F2.8: Sigma 24-70 or Tamron 28-75 or Tokina 28-80 better?

Bryan, many thanks for sharing this info.
Sigma does have better texture and richer colours.

I guessed I will test this 3 lens side by side during purchasing.

I've just had a chance to try 3 above lenses @ the same time:D First, I purchased Sigma 24-70 Macro after all those reviews. But it's turned out to be a bad copy ( or not :D ): too much CA even @ F5.6 , focus problem w/ subject 4m away or further, yellow color cast ( can be correct @ PS coz i shoot RAW always... Had it for six days, shot about 400 shots. Yes, i love it's build, layout , very impressive, heavy means sturdy, 82mm filter cost much but again, look impressive ( pro :D ), sharpness is very good . But i had to return it , i missed it coz there's no other replacement. So i
tried the sigma 28-70 : better CA contron but contrast and sharpness is inferior to the 24-70 . Finally, i decided to choose the Tamron, and well, I''ve just have it for 2 days but at the first glance, it's sharper than sigma 24-70, lighter, quieter, but looks not impressive as sigma 24-70.
Just my opinion

Hmmm... Did you test Tokina?

Update:

Tested Tamron and Tokina today at CP.

1. Build: Tokina is better.
2. Sharpness: Tamron is better. Tokina is way too soft at 80mm.

Now, either I get Tamron or wait for Tokina for update to this tank.

I also interested to get a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 too... appreciate if you can share more info.

Cheers!

I second on that. I have try both Tamron and Tokina- Tamron gives sharper image.

Well I guess its also up to what copy you get since the QC is not really there. Just be sure to test out a few copies so that you won't get a dud.
how many copies do you guys generally try out?

The copy I tested in CP PP was very bright and sharp. Very good already. When I tested with Tokina with the same setting, Tokina was darker. However, I wonder will it suffer flare more easily than the Tokina. Also tested my EFS. It's even darker but sharpness is better. Colour tone wise, Canon and Tokina is looks richer than Tamron.
