Was trying to use LB to shoot streets... not many keepers... yours seem sharp.

The PC lens has 2 separate controls for the tilt and focus, thus you can tilt one direction and then focus slowly till you get the desired effect.
The LB has to be done concurrently, thus it's not as easy to achieve the shots, esp. in street shooting conditions.

me just trial & error, but after past week of shooting, getting more used to it.
I think the guy know, but he just don't care.

oic... tot if the concept was similar... mabbe I can get the latest LB and no need to hold the focus until my fingers ache... looks like 85PC is a different beast.

Actually, using a LB to hoot streets and candids can be easier or at least much faster than using a tilt and shift lens as all the controls can be manipulated simultaneously. It's just a matter of getting used to. *
On a Tilt Shift, since each control has to be manipulated separately, it takes much longer (in contrast to a LB).
* Most people advocate the V shaped, press press action, but I found that grasping the edge of the LB with the inner surfaces of the thumb, fore and middle fingers exert much more torque to the lens and therefore requires less exertion of certain hand muscles (the reason why your fingers feel so tired after awhile using a LB).

I actually use the thumb and index finger method. Jus seldom get subject in the sweet spot. Only have 2-5% keeper rate. Lost a lot of good pics due to misfocus oof.
Yeah, I can see where that is a problem.
I must admit I've only used the LB in passing, whereas I've been using TSEs for many months now, and as Leong has found out, with a bit of practise, shooting on the fly is entirely doable. However, it's much easier to get exact focus with a tele TSE than the wide.
