It'd be interesting if anyone knows any. Never know when I might need it for a project of mine as well.

Oh btw, I'm looking for a keris now. Got a project coming up that needs it. Anyone has any idea where to find one? :dunno:

Something like this:

Real swords are not allowed in Singapore, unless it's a diplomatic/ceremonial gift, and mabbie, under very exceptional circumstances, but in general, they don't exist to the general public (here). IIRC, a finely crafted Katana can take up to 2 years for a master to craft, and easily goes into USD 5 or 6 figures. I doubt if anyone would lend or rent such an item, even if they have one here.

Your best bet is to approach the companies who import and sell replicas, or look into special interest forums as there would probably be some enthusiasts who might be willing to see their 'baby' being glorified in a photo shoot. ;)

As DM said, real swords are not allowed in singapore. Replicas ARE available, but IIRC you still require a permit to own one. Borrowing one for a shoot is dangerous, because its illegal to carry it in public as well or to have one with you at ANYTIME without a proper license. (your shoot HAS to be indoors, unless you get a permit. and its hard to get such a permit for personal shoots)

P.S. a REAL katana (or even a replica with an edge) is going to be very dangerous, you have to make sure the model will not play around with it. 'cause a well crafted and maintained katana has a very keen blade. you can draw blood just by rubbing your skin gently against it. my friend's father is/was a collector, i fooled around with a wakizashi (or somehting like that, its a short bladed katana) of his and i cut my finger wide open.

O HAI!!!!
