BTW, in case not familiar, Canon, Nikkor, Carl Zeiss and even Leitz can buang conpared to Rodenstock. Only Schneiders can compare.

I once had my passport photos taken with an Imagon, one razor sharp, and one still sharp with just a hint of 'haze' soft-focus. It's hard to describe, but imagine a sharp photo in a soft glow. The degfree of soft focus can be controlled. See link for info.

I also used to use a APO 50mm enkarging lens. It was so sharp without being harsh or over-contrasty it was scary.
