EOS - M3

Thanks for the helpful info ... the AF focus speed is fast using EF lens on adaptor? Was very concern about those sluggish hunting and speed ....

EF and EF-S lenses performance are "okay", usable but not lighting fast. Hunting still happens but usually still can lock on subject 2 sec longest.

But feel EF-S/STM lenses perform faster (EF-S 10-22 vs EF-S 10-18), this may due to the AF coding they used. (since EF-M are STM lenses also)

SRP for the M3. Street price should be lower.
Single lens (18-55) kit - $899
Twin lens kit (18-55 + 55-200) - $1269
Available from today.

Actual retail price from one reputable store :
Kit 1 - $829
Kit 2 - $1,168

I tried with 16-35 2.8, 50 1.2 and 85 1.2. So far so good, no hunting at all actually. About max 0.5 sec to get the focusing point, I have a "feeling" that touch screen to focus is slightly faster than manual half press the shutter and take photos. Probably due to the the slight delay (human response rate) that need to hold and press the shutter. As if touch on screen, it will automatically focus and take photo. However, focusing using EVF is the fastest method, i don't know why.

One thing for sure, a lot of third party lens don't work well unless using manual focus. So if you intend to use 3rd party lens on M3, quite wasted actually. For Canon L lens so far, I see no problem

Comes with 2 kit,

Kit 1 body+18-55 $770+
Kit 2 body+18-55 + 55-200 ~ $1k1

If this is the correct price, consider quite cheap + warranty though. Very similar to Amazon JP (except for EVF bundle)

I tried using with a telephoto, seems like the focus peaking does not work at all.
