EOS - M3

Reading up here might yield a clue why older Canon lenses and 3rd party lenses might show slow focusing or hunting.

I tried using with a telephoto, seems like the focus peaking does not work at all.

What teplephoto lens are you using?

I just tried pairing it with 70-200 2.8 IS II and worked perfectly. I mainly use M, but have tried using this feature in AV, TV and P. All worked as advertised. There are few differences in enabling focus peaking for EF M and EF Lens.

1)For EF M lens (22mm f2), turn on AF+MF, turn off Servo, One shot selected. While half pressing the shutter, turn the manual ring, peaking should appear.
2)For EF IS Lens + Adapter to use Focus Feaking Feature, just simply switch to MF, then when turn the manual ring, the peaking should appear.

If this is the correct price, consider quite cheap + warranty though. Very similar to Amazon JP (except for EVF bundle)

I just purchased EOS M3 Kit 1 and EVF separately. EVF sets me back my S$320. Definitely more expensive than getting M3 with EVF as a kit from Amazon Japan, but I wanted local warranty for electronics stuff.

No spare battery. Shop is willing to sell me battery from 750D/760D packs, but they don't know the price of the new battery.

Bought my spare battery from Jp about sgd 60.

Visited once of the funan shop for M3 cam for view, overall lot of improvement from the M1. For color availability, gloss white and Matt black.for color comparison park side by side of white and black M3.the white look slightly bigger than the Matt black even it a same cam build.the tilt angle view LCD screen it a plus. Cam grip is good.but not for big plum hand.

Anyone try the AF in low light? Like in living room or dinner hall lighting? Is it sluggish or hunting?

I mean in general like white florescent and yellow tungsten lighting you would find it restaurant or living room.

If there's a 22mm F2 kit with EVF would be nice, can complement Canon DSLR.

No point having two sets of 18-55.

Or probably Canon is targeting first time buyers instead.

Just received a new set of Body+EVF at $600 + $40(shipping). No tax charged. Amazon JP is having an discount for this set at $600 instead of $650 compared to last week

Are you able to set menu language as English?

Yes, can be set easily. This is my 2nd set, helping my friend buy one.

Cool. I thought that most of the cameras bought from Japan are limited to Japanese language only.

Local set doesn't come with body only right?
