Eos 7D ???

Well if u follow image resource samples, 5D mk2 is way still ahead in image quality and noise. So really 5D mk2 to 7D wont really make sense unless you want the AF system or one of those extra stuff lol.
Agree, IQ and noise control wise 5D mk2 still the way to go. 7D targetted more for enthusiasts and sports or wildlife shooter. Still rather I wished that they had lowered the megapixel count to about 14 MP ideally...I don't mind less pixels in return for better noise control and IQ. 18MP on an APS-C crop sensor is still a bit too much. :sweatsm:

i hope the 1 series doesn't follow the arrangement for the 7D af points. the current one seems to be more useful for tracking.

I wonder if BG-E6 can be fitted. Anyway, will have to wait a while to see more mods in the market. Shall focus my attention on the lenses first :)

new 100mm looks attractive :) :)

I am also waiting for the rumoured Sigma 85f1.4 and 70-300 OS to be confirmed...looks like this is an interesting week.

The current 50D is really a bargain as compared to this upcoming 7D .......... 50D is

Got to disagree on this, the bargain should be 40D if that is the case. Got to compare features vs price. I wouldn't bother with 50D, actually not even 40D, as compare to 20D/30D. There is really no significant improvement from 20D till 50D, considering that is huge 4 generations gap.

Just wondering what the coming 60D will be, to be better then 50D, but not as good as 7D... The poor Canon engineers must be working hard to decide what to features to be excluded in the coming 60D.

Speaking of the movie mode, the 7D will arguably be the one to beat. Canon has the 500D (without manual control) and the 5Dmk2. and now the 7D. Just read below, taken from dpreview.

" New movie features. The 7D's movie mode features full manual control over shutter speed and aperture. Images can be recorded in 1080p resolution at 30 (NTSC), 25 (PAL) or 24 frames per second and in 720p mode with 60 (NTSC) or 50 (PAL) fps. There is also an option to cut the beginning and end of a movie in one second increments in the camera."

Finally...my 5dmk2 backup camera ..:):)

5Dmk2 also can manual control apperture & shutter speed, just update the latest firmware. It is extremely useful and make the video function so much better to use.

Well, 60D is probably a beefed-up version of 50D + a stripped-down version of 7D.

I just hope 60D is not gonna be another 18MP.

Id still stick to my 5D2, but the 7D is certainly impressive, especially for its price which would be similar to the d300

Let's monitor the B&S this week. I am sure there will be some interesting developments there as well.

Maybe its a good time to get the 100mm Old macro lens now, since many would want to quickly rid of their's maybe at a good price too :bsmilie:

Time for an upgrade! :D Anyone wants to buy my 40D? ;p

I'll wait for the new one. It is good enough to replace my need for 85f1.8, 100macro, 135f2. It kind of roll the 3 lens into a single L. It comes with IS too.

Just skimmed through dpreview... looks pretty good. The tilt detection is not that I thought it was but pretty neat. Canon seems to have thrown in lots of technological goodies in this 7D.

Now the wait for high ISO samples and the price.

Looks like a buy for me. :)
