3 cheers for 7D!!! makes a nice X-mas gift for myself...:)

I love CANON

that is, if you can get your hands on 1 before Christmas

WOW !! i go lunch come back !! then like that liaoz !!! haha :):):)

Interesting points:
• M-RAW file format (approx 10MP)
• Customisable AF modes and auto selection of AF point for landscape/portrait grip up/portrait grip down shooting orientation
• New dual layer Focus Colour Luminance (iFCL) metering system
• 100% 1.0x magnification viewfinder
• Done away with interchangeable focussing screens by using transmissive LCD in viewfinder which has a built-in grid display
• No "Basic Mode" automatic scene selection for exposure modes as in all pro level DSLRs
• Dual axis electronic level to show pitch and roll on live view or in the viewfinder via the AF points
• 10 customisable buttons and controls
• New Quick Control button for quick selection of the camera's settings
• Integrated Speedlite Transmitter (built-in ST-E2)
• +/- 5.0 EV Exposure Compensation (though top LCD only shows upto +/- 3.0 EV)
• Specific switch to select live view or movie recording mode and a recording start/stop button
• Selectable 24/25/30fps for 1080p video and 50/60fps for 720p video
• In camera video trimming in 1 second increments
• Weather sealing equivalent to 1-series (tho it's EOS 1N from 1994)
• Same LP-E6 battery and LC-E6E charger as 5D Mark II
• New BG-E7 battery grip
• New WFT-E5 wireless file transmitter (with it's own BP-511A) but still only 802.11g
• No mention of camera being able to host GPS for geotagging via it's own USB without WFT-E5
• 3" screen does not have a black border, though cosmetic, this helps in getting properly sized screen protectors.
• Larger buttons (useful in cold conditions with gloves on)
• Separation of control dial lock and the power switch to below the exposure mode dial

time to be a good boy so that Santa will put a 7D in my socks haha~

Oh crap, I need to get a larger sock so that he can stuff in the 100mm macro L too. Santa might give me the 15-85 (which I am not interested) if the sock is too small.

Hahaha.... CANON S'pore still NO NEWS on their Website... weak lah

hmmm i wonder when will it be available in singapore

WOW... D700 vs 7D
More likely D300s vs. 7D
Since 7D is still a 1.6X crop body, it is hardly comparable to the D700 IMHO.

sample jpegs from the 7D is available on the imaging resource website.

can do a comparo of the current high res aps-c sensors like the K7 and 7D.

Is the crop 1.6x or 1.45x as rumoured?

- BG-E7 and LC-E6, yet another battery and battery grip?!?

Actually, I am thinking of "upgrading" from 5DMkII. Seems like feature set is much better than 5DMkII leh. The only downside is it is not FF. Will wait for more reviews. Usually, there will be some problems like the vertical banding and black spot issues of the 5DMkII. Wait for the dust to settle first.

1.6 crop. same battery as 5d2 but different grip. its a speed demon for the enthusiasts.

1.6x, with new BG but uses the same battery as 5D2. High ISO performance seems to be better than 40D/50D (to my eyes).

the battery is the same one used in 5D MkII :) and its 1.6 crop

Well if u follow image resource samples, 5D mk2 is way still ahead in image quality and noise. So really 5D mk2 to 7D wont really make sense unless you want the AF system or one of those extra stuff lol.

But I have to agree noise wise it looks better then 50D haha. Just look at the shadows.

if good for sports BBB !!!
haha
100% view finder + 8fps +many af points and gd res canon finally released something worth the wait haha ... cannot resist liaoz ...... too bad not FF hahaha

i wonder wat the new 1D series will have !!! :o

I think margins for BG a lot better than the body itself. No need to give warranty, so more.

Very disappointed. Thought it will be a FF.
Now it is a expensive 1.6x APS-C camera.

The current 50D is really a bargain as compared to this upcoming 7D .......... 50D is

APS-C CMOS = 1.6 crop
Also mentioned is 150K shutter life.
cross type AF point

full HD (1920×1080)30/25/24 fps
HD (1280×720)and 640×480 can choose 60/50 fps
support external mic

Also, something make me interested
"除此之外,短片拍摄时 还可以使用手动模式,充分利用数码单反相机图像传感器大的特点,大大扩展了其景深控制等影像表 现力。"

If not wrong, it means "when video recording, manual mode can be use, fully utilize the benefit of SLR which has larger sensor, makes it able to expand its control in depth of field" (the jargon is alien to me though I can understand Chinese...)

So, is it means it can control the aperture like 5DII when recording?

According to DPreview
http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos7d/page13.asp

The 7D offer manual control over video recording, similar to the 5DII...
