Hi Phoakm,

Just to interest to know more ,how the WFT-E4 for your application?
It that good for remote location shoots with laptop unit.
How the wireless set up with com, easy or tough?
As knew a battery serve the WFT unit, another battery will support the cam.
What the price you getting the unit?
How a fully charged battery serve for the WFT-E4?
Do it last ?

Afar i knew you have WFT-E4 with 5DMKII,Do share your view point here.
mainly studio work or other ?

Had been using WFT for couple of shoots and assignment. Initial setup may need a longer learning, but once you get the hand of it, it is very easy. Especially, you have a good serivce from Canon service center, they can assist you in the setup. The battery used for WFT-E4 is similar with 5D MK2. If the battery for 5D MK2 can last from 800 over shots, definitely WFT will or even better. The unit cost over $1k, think what you need from it before purchasing it.

Found this in eBay:

Fully Compatible 3rd party LP-E6

Full compatibility LP-E6 Battery for Canon EOS 5D II. This battery has built-in SN chip, and is fully compatible with EOS 5D II battery information standard. This Battery does NOT require those 3rd party chargers to work. Simply use your own Canon original charger. Works just like original batteries.

Any one interested in trying this out?

I didn't buy a back-up cam, but I kept my 5DC as back-up coz Murphy is always waiting around the corner especially during time critical work.

I am not going to give up my baby that had storm with me for several weddings just because i got a newborn baby...:bsmilie:

hello, Should i buy 5DM2 kit or body with the lens 24 - 105 separately. What are the pros a cons. Thank for any advice. The kit price is now $5192/-

As kit, you don't get a separate box for the lens but you will still get a separate lens warranty card. If you are planning to sell the lens later, you have to worry about the box since the lens comes inside the 5D2 camera box. Other than that, you get the hood and the pouch that comes with 24-105mm lens. Getting the kit is cheaper than getting the two items separately. If you need the lens, I would suggest you don't worry about the resale value and just get the kit.

Where to buy at $5192? I think I was quoted $5350 at CP two days ago.

I got the kit at $5120 at Joy's Electromart in Funan 2 weeks ago. I got this price because i bought the EF100-400 as well which cost me another $2400.

hi guys, need some advise. When i tried taking HD video, then copy to my pc, and tried to open the video file with players like real player, it seems the video is choppy and sometimes hang. Why?

Apparently, you need a fairly good system to playback HD. It doesn't run as smooth (but never hung) on a couple of my computers:

- Seems like 20fps on my PowerPC Dual 1.6GHz G5, 4.0GB RAM, 128MB nVidia on QuickTime Player
- Seems like fast continuous stills on my Pentium 4 2.00GHz, 1.0GB, 256MB nVidia on QuickTime Player
- Fine on my MacBook Pro 2.16, 2.0GB RAM, 256MB ATI Radeon on QuickTime Player

Hello all, thanks CS tan, Harvey Norman quoted me $5192/-. Bargain city quoted at their website @$5199/-

I using lenovo x61... apparently not good enough to play HD??

Err... sorry friend, I dunno the specs of your Lenovo but what I've mentioned in my post was merely to share with you on what I've tested on. Maybe it's a player thing? I have yet to test it out for myself but I only use QuickTime Player... Does VLC support HD? Maybe....

At 1920x1080, VLC is very choppy with QuickTime the only viewable solution.

Though, some conversion to H264 in iMovie makes it possible to view on VLC.

Using a MacBook Pro btw.

How many hot red/blue/white pixels do you get when you cover the lens (i.e. complete blackout) and set exposure to 30 seconds? I seem to get 15 or so hot pixels (at 30 seconds, ISO 1000) so I wonder if it is normal or I should send my camera in for servicing/pixel remapping.

Just to see if using AC3 filter + Haali Splitter will help in your HD playback.

Had about...MANY on my 5DC but none on 5DMII, yet. Sent 5DC to CSC and yep, as expected, they didn't manage to remove all but at least am not getting hot pixels on low ISO now. Yeah, I used to get it even on ISO100 at long exposure. On high ISO, 1" shutter, I now see only about 3-5, with black cap, only 1...so far.

With that, I would suggest for you to only send to CSC if you find yourself shooting long exposures and high ISO frequently cuz they already mention the chance of completely removing all hot pixels is never 100% but close. Else, I don't think it's showing any on your pictures right? Anyway, if you do send to CSC, collection day be sure to try it out in the CPS room with the technician before leaving the place.

Damn, speak of the devil, did a test shot outta my window, I now see 3 hot pixels on my 5DMII on long exposures, specifically above 10s even at ISO100. 5DC for some reason showing none at ISO100, 30s. LOL... Don't care la, I rarely shoot long exposures and it's only 3... but what I HAD on my 5DC previously was nightmare so bo bian... forced me to visit CSC.

Hi

Need help

Anyone have encounter this problem before?

Err20

Shooting is not possible
Turn the power switch to
<off> and <on> again or
re-install the battery.

Thank you for your advice.

This seems to be happening more than people like. err20 is related to CF card slot and you might have corrupted memory card as a result. If you have pictures inside the card, try not to reformat the card until you can try and recover them using recovery software.

You might want to send the camera in for checking. They should know what to do as there are quite a few reports (worldwide) on the err20 problem with 5DMkII.
