Wait for Bug to resolve first, and price to drop......![]()
Hi all,
What will be the foresee bug for 40D base on past experience?
Assuming no stupid mistake from canon... The only drawback will be the x1.6 factor because using the older manual lenses ( leica or carl zeiss ) on this camera will suffer from a x1.6 factor.
Aren't all lenses, even EF-S lenses, subjected to a 1.6x crop?
yes, ofcourse all lens will suffer from x1.6 factor if you use them on this camera, no doubt about it. That is also the reason for the birth of the EF-S lens like 10-20mm, 17-55mm etc. so that the photographers get a wider coverage angle.
for a 10-20mm EF-S lens, it will make up to about 16-35mm ( round up ).
If you have a Carlzeiss manual 21mm lens ( very expansive lens ), when use on this camera, it will be equivalent to about 35mm ( normal angle coverage only ). Therefore, those people that has spend lots of money for the 21mm wide angle lens, will not choose this camera because they will not be able to fully utilise the angle coverage that they had paid for.
If the 40D camera is fullframe, then the 21mm carlzeiss lens will be able to cover a much wider angle instead. That is what I meant by the draw back. I hope I have answered Calebk correctly.

Is it? I through EF-S is for canon DSLR camera which was not FF and the focal length should be equal to those conventional lenses. That what I know for digital lenses.
Pls enlighten me if I was wrong. Any web site for ref.
Thanks
