Tell them you are from clubsnap they will offer you their best price @$1745.00.Was there last night to get one for a friend was told left with last piece after I bought one.Next shipment will have to wait for some time as there may not have any shipment coming before chismas.And may not be able to offer @ this price due to mainly price will be going up '5%' GST.

SGD 1745 seems quite expensive. I noticed that shops along Orchard Road are willing to sell the 300D kit together with Sandisk Ultra II 512MB CF card for SGD1900. As the market price for this card alone is more than SGD200. The price for camera kit is less than SGD 1700.

Did you say Orchard? Take their offers with a grain of salt. Shops there are quite famous for the dubious offers.

if you can really get the price, it's great. These shops do not have good reputation though, so better be careful about warranty and accessories. You may not know what's missing.

IMO, $1745 is by no means expensive. I have checked with Cathay and AP - both quoted me $1850 and $1800 respectively. I could probabaly have gotten better prices with e-quotes. But I would not consider $1745 to be expensive. At worst, it is the market price

US version is Rebel 300D. It is the same 300D we are getting. I think Canon USA try to price it below 1k. So the right price for us should be S$1740 w/lens!

Anybody has any quotation from Hong Kong? Cheaper?

If it were this straightforward, the 70-200F4L should have cost <$1000 here instead of the $1250 we're being charged.

Please remember that the "cheap" prices you see are mostly online offers where they have lower running costs so they can pass the "savings" to the consumer. If you go to the stores, they will charge the list price which is about 1K US which is roughly the same as what our stores are charging.

Remember if they order online in US, they usually do not have to pay tax while we still have to pay GST! Another factor for the difference in prices.
