EM-10 Official! The OM-D for All!

how about the em10 grip, if both grip and auto lens cap are available, i can go down and buy both using the $100 voucher with some top up.

Most likely the 14-42 pancake and the standard 40-150 f4-f5.6 R lens.

yes, it is confirm the dual kit lens consist of 14-42 and 40-150R.

I called Olympus Singapore hotline early last week to enquiry about the availability of the silver EM10 and someone told me this info.

guys,...

help me out, same price for brand new EM 10 and EM 5 kit lens package?

Which one should i pick??

The key difference EM10 vs EM5
- 3 vs 5 axis. For daily usage, hardly significant diff, there's a good review here
- Wifi (this is a big one for me after being pampered by EP5) and they simply improved app functions with EM10, while EM5 has no wifi. Unfortunately they dun extend the new functions on wifi to EP5 users atm (like shooting in M mode remotely). I realized yesterday at roadshow, live composite is also not available, just live time and live bulb.
- Non Weatherproof...
- Hand Grip vs Battery Grip (there's pros and cons on either one but at least there's a grip option if you wish to go big lenses vs say EP5)
- built in flash...
- some others small ones...

DPReview has a good table for comparison on the difference, the rest is really up to you to test and decide.

SpyGlass , LP did a pretty good summary of the differences.

thanks edutilos

i actually read it and still cant make up my mind! I wish price was a deal breaker like the M1.

Spyglass, I chose the EM10.

Cos I don't need the weather sealing and I didn't like the mushy buttons of EM5.

EM10 flash I hardly use, 3 axis I think is ok for me. Buttons were improved and wifi is implemented well. Transfer to phone and immediate whatsapp to my family/friends is easy.

Also I don't have a use for the free lens they supply with for EM5 since my intention was using Primes. The free $100 voucher and bag(which I sold) I will be spending on grip and battery.

But that's just me and not wholly representative of anyone here.
You have to decide for yourself.

A lot of info around abt specs so I won't add to it. WongLP's writeup oredi very good.

Just a question for u to consider, think about the lenses u plan to use , if you go for primes or the smaller ones no issue but if u r planning to go for the larger ones like the 12-35/2.8, 12-40/2.8 , 35-100/2.8 etc etc, the EM5 might provide better handling with its HLD6.

My choice was between second-hand EM-5 (warranty set) and new EM-10.. I don't need any of the kit lens as this is a second body for me, so intended to use the fast primes (20 f/1.7, 45 f/1.8). Also don't need the incremental features on the EM-10 and size isn't a huge difference. So EM-5 it was (at least can get the savings on second-hand body, haven't seen any EM-10 second-hand yet..). :)

sounds like EM10 is a winner.. i'll be sticking with the primes =)
