The street light bulb on the left looked as though it just gave a huge sneeze.

thanks guys, they are the very common ixora flowers you see around. they seemed to have 'over-bloomed' due to the drastic weather changes recently :bsmilie:

vel: i really like that description, the sneeze :bsmilie:

some info gathered ...

Flowers exhibit characteristics through which they exploit the sensory biases of pollinating insects, and both signaler and receiver benefit from this interaction, either through reproductive service or food reward. However, the preferences of pollinators for certain flower traits such as color or odor might be exploited by predators that target pollinating insects.

Crab spiders, Thomisus spectabilis, position themselves on flowers to prey on pollinators. These Flower Spiders each takes a flower as its hunting territory and waits on the petals, anchored by its hind legs and pedipalps extended. An insect visiting the flower for pollen or nectar is seized and bitten, then sucked dry.
