Haha! 17-55 oso good wat. faster and got IS. It is actually an EF-S "L" lens in disguise. more ex than 17-40 F4L somemore. ;p

Its really a L in disguise, that I have no doubt. Just that the dust issue is killing me.
Now where is my rubber band. ;p

:bsmilie: I like your sense of humor!

Was thinking that I prolly need the IS at the tele end. Also, weight between non-IS (1.56lbs/707g) and IS (1.7lbs/770g) doesn't seem much diff. :dunno:

800 bucks not worth for me.. i would rather to train to keep my hands steady :)

IS is now a must for me, even at 105mm. Probably because of the harsh situation i'm thrown i'm in to shoot. hahaha.. :P

Yeah so enjoy it while u can. One thing is unlike telel lenses where u can get a gd bokeh easily from a distance, the 17-40 u've to go really close up to your subject.

Agree...too many ppl overreliance on IS technology liao....last time lens or body where got IS one? Train yourself to handhold with steady hands is better. :) IS does not make up for sloppy technique.

I strongly agree with u too! That's y i never want to depend on IS unless that lens only have IS one. In addition, 200mm is still hand-heldable.

of cos heavy, after holding it for hours shooting~~ ;p 40D not light also..

IMO, not everyone regards IS as a replacement for sloppy techniques or postures la :)

Sometimes IS does help retain more keepers and the added sharpness is WOO! :D

high 5~~ ;p plus IS doesn't help much when the subjects is moving..

don't remind me. but a heavier camera does help when u going to shoot. breathing techniques, stance and hand held skills help as well.

definitely better to train for steady hands than spend so much for IS..
