Eastern Snappers FALL IN!? - Part 2

then u can create a HALO-er HALO? haha

seriously... when i first saw it i was thinking of donut...

yes yes! its like a donut size.. i was trying to make it outstanding.. but you ppl caught the pot first.. so on my part.. my PP fail me..

but then i only use lightroom... can do until like that? ;p

er.. not sure.. I have lightroom but I never use it so not sure.. I'm better at photoshop itself..

haha.. to me.. depends.. but usually I try not to PP too much..
So what I'm trying to do now is to master the basic first.. PP too much makes the picture not natural not real.. But then again.. Art of photography does requires PP to do the job at times so it depends on what thing you wan to do in-dept PP.

then lightroom is for you... can use lightroom to filter those photo that are good then do more in depth pp with photoshop :bsmilie:

haha.. i shall take a look at lightroom when I have the time.. hehe..

tonite i put the file into my server then send you the link.

WAH!!! You so high tech, got own server... oh i forgot your job. Anyways make sure it's jpg coz i haven't set up my RAW conversion for Nikon cameras yet. Too lazy lah.

Yes ah i do agree ... losing morale coz feel photos really got no feel .. but if after improvement even via PP, then realized its able to be saved, its alright lah... :>

The "feel" must come before the shutter is triggered. Then the PP can enhance the "feel" further. No PP can put "feel" into a picture that has no "feel" to begin with. You can't sharpen a blurred picture for example. Heheheh... confusing but true i think...

lolx.. Ghaz1 can teach his style of PP.. yeh...

Eh... what style. I only use quick selection and contrast and saturation a bit and color balance etc... what style? :bsmilie:

but then i only use lightroom... can do until like that? ;p

Lightroom got quick selection? If not, then not the way i do it la.

I've seen Lightroom being used. I have silkypix for my LX3 and it looks the same, using sliders for most things. I kinda like it for quick, hassle free PP and of course the RAW conversion so i'm thinking of getting it.

Hi there, dont mind I would like to give some input, in my opinion I think the pp is overly done, oversaturated and oversharpened, I won't know the coke is on the sand if you didnt mention that you went with sky to the beach to shoot together. I feel that there is a limit to the drama effect to add onto a picture, too much of anything is not a good thing I feel. Nonetheless, thank you for sharing :)

Hello byteyou! Thanks for your feedback. In this busy world, any time taken aside to comment on my picture is considered an honour to me. :)

I went for the abstract look for this picture, that's why i eliminated the sea when composing this image. I wanted my viewers to think about the picture, where was it taken? I wanted to title it Coke on Mars but find that too tacky. The hard edges of the picture reflect the hardened curves of the sand bar that you see there. It left no footprints when stepped on. And the sunrise... that was a magical moment. You've got to see the golden egg yolk peek through the storm clouds and reflecting off the hardened sand in a majestic golden hue!

That said, of course there are different schools of thought and many ways to PP a picture. If i was going for realism, then this would of course be overdone... but to capture the moment, the golden sunrise reflected on sand, thought i'd go for the hypereal. :bsmilie:

Oh btw,it comes in pairs. Here's the sister picture:

Thanks for the image Skylover. Certainly much more to work with on the original sized pictures.
Here are two versions i've done up. One is warm toned and the other has a 20% cool filter applied to the bottom half of the picture to reflect the coolness of the sky. The cooltoned picture has higher contrast as well as the blueness comes in handy for such purposes, hence it looks darker, more moody and dramatic. See which you prefer.
