I think you are not the only one with black body having the paint came off.
But then again, that is not an issue. Our main aim is to take nice pics.

I thought a few bros in Japan had the same issue with the silver body?

i am not too sure about that. but only heard about black body having this problem.

I saw a few complaints about the first silver batch that arrived in Japan's retail stores.

Between 5x and 7x.

Does the new stabilisation system gives users new found sharpness in panning shots?

Coming from GF-1, here's my first impression without turning it on (battery is charging):
- the buttons are tiny and doesn't have feedback when pressed
- almost no space for palm to rest, I'll figure it out somehow
- the d-ring lug is annoying but once figured out the best position then I've almost no problem with it
- the body build quality is impressive
- feel a bit heavier than anticipated

First impression from several test shots:
- face detection can be easily fooled with non-face subject, I feel GF-1 is better.
- AF with 12-50mm is fast, almost instant in good light.
- AF Tracking doesn't work on not too contrast subject. Also I feel it works better on wide than on tele (with 12-50mm).
- IS is amazing.
- High ISO is really impressive, can use ISO3200 without hesitation.
- High burst is simply amazing, love it.
- Love the SCP, shadow and light clipping, EVF.

Bought the kit online, no store is selling it in my hometown. (I do not live in SG, bought my GF-1 from Cathay though)

Hehe, yeah I guess most people prefer the silver paint job and leather style grip.

Black for Ppl who got more Pana lens,
Silver for ppl who got more Oly primes?
