Does the battery use seamlessly transit between battery in the body to the battery in the grip? I have found that it might not be.

And another gripe: It seems that one really has to lock the grip or the battery would drain over time with the accidental pressing of buttons.

how to Infinity Focus on OM-D with 12-50mm lens?

Just a question for all. Does anyone notice that the shadows tend to have a bit noise even at low ISO?

At 200 no, but till 1600, none that bothers me a little. It starts to creep in at 1600 and above though, which is fine with me...

I tend to notice it only if I do extreme pixel peeping beyond 100%. On the jpegs they tend to create some degree of splotchiness.

Maybe it is just me doing too much pixel peeping...

Is your gradation set to auto?

Yes I think.

I see that if set to auto but mainly only on distant trees so far. If such, I change to normal then it's ok. Mostly still auto to have good DR.

I am beginning to wonder whether the noise is more due to the weak AA filter than anything else.

AA filter only affect the moire effect, doesn't affect the noise level at all...

Actually, what many have found out is that the lack of an AA filter somehow increases luminescence noise. This is a fault of the Leica M9 and the Ricoh GXR that has no filter whatsoever.

On the other hand, Fujifilm adopted a different color array to reduce luminescence noise substantially, while Nikon did not abandon the filter altogether but engineered it such that some of the benefits of an AA filter remain.

Ooo, thanks for the info

did you guys observe that it seems like a fan noise when you put your ear close to the cam?

Yes, it's the famous OM-D hum.
Your camera is humming because it's enjoying itself. :)

You can put on your SAF ear plug when you start shooting with your OM-D... Firer watch your front!

The shutter is much quieter than a mirror-slapping DSLR. More like snipers watch your front! :bsmilie:
