DSLR Magazine says the 5D II will be 21mp

Mine guess: 21MP, 5fps, 9pt AF sensor, 50D functions...in other words its like a FF 50D.

Prolly no video function and pop up flash. (from the shape of the pentaprism)

In other words, just like the Sony A900 but still lose out on paper .............. :what:

can't imagine how long it will take to process 1 raw pics
you will need to replace your CF with ones that support Ultra Direct Memory Access (UDMA). I believe D700 is the first camera that supports this mode and with the MP race that is currently going on, this feature is going to be a standard feature in most of the high MP cameras.

Where did you see "Destined Evalution"? I saw "Destined Evolution". I actually hope Canon will put "Destined Revolution" But I guess not much chance.

Let's bring out the chips and start playing SHOWHAND! :bsmilie:

I agree with CS TAN, but I guess "Revolution" would be ruled out.

No 100% VF
No Pro AF
No 1-series weather sealing.
:(

The Print-button stays.

Can't they at least give us a semi-Pro AF ? 9 AF points just doesn't cut it in the class now. 25AF points maybe ? All i'm looking for are improvement in 3 areas: AF, AF micro adjust, high ISO performance.

Give me these 3, they can keep the print button for all I care, I'll get a new DSLR body for once (instead of waiting for cheap second hand, which was my normal style).

AF performance isn't defined by the number of AF points...anyway, too many AF points actually slows down the cam if it dosen't have enough processing power to churn all the info pumped by the AF sensor, ie D700 wif AF 51pts active.

I'm just hoping for the following improvement in AF:
1. AF points placed on rule-of-the-thirds (11 AF points like Nikon)
2. AF sensitive to f/8 (available on 1-series but not others... 1-series "tested" AF capable up to f16 using stacked TCs  )
3. AF accuracy up to 1/3 DOF for f/5.6 for faster lens
4. All AF cross-sensitive with assist AF (already available on the Mk3s)
5. Better AF points handing-over algorithm
6. Partial ECF (combination with pt.5)
7. Option to disable "assist AF points" (the XXD series tends to AF lock on BG instead of subject)
8. Option to "spot-AF" @ 1/2 or 1/3 the AF sensor (idea is similar to spot metering, especially when you have a small subject against confusing BG) Use spot AF for AF lock, then it can be expanded to normal sensor AF width for tracking.

On the side... I'm hoping for ...
1. USMII (faster USM motors)

I take that back....look at the teaser at the top of this page on canon europe site: http://www.canon-europe.com/

There's a seamline just below the Canon logo of the mystery camera...meaning pop-up flash!!?!?

The hot shoe mount lowered?

No lah.. obvious all protrusions are PSed away.. left knob, 3 buttons on the right...makes it looks like 1 series contour. Not like the one in Canon Jap site or the moon teaser.
So means got two new cameras ar? The pentaprism on the camera in canon europe site doesn't seem look PS-ed at all. Think they deliberately PS-ed away the buttons and dial at the sides though. Then again the shape looks different from the moon teaser one.

Which is more convincing?

Bro, the winings should split 70 & 30?

you mean the line?

Neither, they could have used any Canon body for it anyway. :bsmilie:

:nono:....the only thing I know they always used 50 f1.4 for launching new cams in adverstisment. :)

The 5D is already a very good camera with excellent handling, beautiful colour reproduction, high ISO noise-free outputs, etc. I'll be very interested to see what the new 5D II can amazes me with. Luckily never wait for the II about a year ago, will definitely miss so many shooting opportunities. :bsmilie:

Agreed, had been holding 5D for two years. Can't wait to get the new one. ;p
