DSLR Magazine says the 5D II will be 21mp

The 5D is already a very good camera with excellent handling, beautiful colour reproduction, high ISO noise-free outputs, etc. I'll be very interested to see what the new 5D II can amazes me with. Luckily never wait for the II about a year ago, will definitely miss so many shooting opportunities. :bsmilie:
Three long years...and in the meantime 3 different xxD bodies have came and went....compare the specs of the 30D and the 50D and thats probably the difference you would have between the old 5D and the new.

I'm happy with 12.8MP. Won't need such a huge resolution. For what? Waste my hard disk space only.

Well, you can stick to sRAW1. That gives you 10 MP and super clean ISO 12800. :bsmilie:

actually, this is one of the feature I'm focusing on... if LR and PS takes sRAW1,2,3,4.....

hahha time to get your cash ready by oct/nov when it hits our shores..

So means got two new cameras ar? The pentaprism on the camera in canon europe site doesn't seem look PS-ed at all. Think they deliberately PS-ed away the buttons and dial at the sides though. Then again the shape looks different from the moon teaser one.

Everyone's expecting the 1D3 replacement to come out before 08 olympics... guess that can't be done on time. Tink the "show of force" of the black lenses there made Canon hit the roof.... with 1 cam due and facing pressure from D700 and A900 and another damned and obviously losing major clientele base... what to do?

Showhand might be an option to plug the leaking hull and gain some buoyancy in the market.

*edit* However, IMHO the 1D replacement can wait until spring next year.... big show over liao..chiong now also not much impact.

That's misleading, I have used great EF-S and non Ls and lousy Ls. Just because it is an L doesn't mean it is automatically good.

Even some L lenses are a bit long in the tooth.

Replacing core primes and zooms with higher resolution lenses more suitable for the newer 50-65MP FF sensors that are coming over the next few years should already be in Canon's plan. This will include the 24L, 35L, 16-35L (done) and 100-400L, 200 L (done) and over time several of the longer Ls.

And not to mention the rumored 24-70L MKII...

OK, OK agreed that there are some great EF-S lenses and some bummers L. So what's new? Even N* doesn't get it right most of the time. Looking ahead, with micro 4/3rds and Sigma DP-1, I can see a rosy future for APS sensors in PnS and entry level DSLRs.

We talk about lenses being long term investments while bodies come and go. EF-S/DX is a dead end. We can expect better Ls in the near future or even a whole new generation of lenses that can take advantage of a 50MP sensor. Now that's what I would call progress.

Yes, they do. Tested with 40D sRAW. Works fine in LR and PS.

heard tat Canon changing RAW format to CRX or sometin like tat.:dunno:

normal pop up flash should have seamline above the logo, not below, right?
You have a point there. Some ppl on dpreview also pointed this out...so prolly its just part of the pentaprism design I guess.

Dun think they will have pop up flash.

This wouldn't amazed me. I'll still stick to my 5D if this is the case.

Famous trait "Canon always like to cripple features"
