Can't they at least give us a semi-Pro AF ? 9 AF points just doesn't cut it in the class now. 25AF points maybe ? All i'm looking for are improvement in 3 areas: AF, AF micro adjust, high ISO performance.
Give me these 3, they can keep the print button for all I care, I'll get a new DSLR body for once (instead of waiting for cheap second hand, which was my normal style).
AF performance isn't defined by the number of AF points...anyway, too many AF points actually slows down the cam if it dosen't have enough processing power to churn all the info pumped by the AF sensor, ie D700 wif AF 51pts active.
I'm just hoping for the following improvement in AF:
1. AF points placed on rule-of-the-thirds (11 AF points like Nikon)
2. AF sensitive to f/8 (available on 1-series but not others... 1-series "tested" AF capable up to f16 using stacked TCs  )
3. AF accuracy up to 1/3 DOF for f/5.6 for faster lens
4. All AF cross-sensitive with assist AF (already available on the Mk3s)
5. Better AF points handing-over algorithm
6. Partial ECF (combination with pt.5)
7. Option to disable "assist AF points" (the XXD series tends to AF lock on BG instead of subject)
8. Option to "spot-AF" @ 1/2 or 1/3 the AF sensor (idea is similar to spot metering, especially when you have a small subject against confusing BG) Use spot AF for AF lock, then it can be expanded to normal sensor AF width for tracking.
On the side... I'm hoping for ...
1. USMII (faster USM motors)
