How about the following TV programmes?

- 亲情 - HK series staring 周润发, still broadcast in Cantonese, 1980's. Other HK favourites from that era include 十大刺客, 书剑恩仇录, etc
- 缤纷83 - Local variety show - 1980's
- 保镖 - Taiwanese long winded slow moving swoard fighting series that was yanked half way through its broadcast so no body knew (or cared) about the ending? late 1970's
- Ultraman and Giant Robot dubbed in Malay, shown on Channel 3 (or 10?) early 70's
- 声宝之夜 - variety game show sponsored by Sharp, hosted by 张韦, early 70's
- 欢乐园地 - children's education program, 1970's
- 家住大芭窑 - children's TV seires, late 70's
- 青春123, 小飞鱼, 新兵小传, local TV series, 1980's
- Combat
- Marine Boy, cartoon

TV commercials:

- Maggie chillie sause, characters say "wa su ka jua!" (我喜欢辣!)
- Dumex milk powder, "Grow like a champion grow..."
- Cambell's soup, in hokkien..."buay hiao kin, wa wu kim bo!"
- Coca cola, around Christmas time, showing people holding candles singing "I'd like to teach the world to sing"...
- Kodak film with the song "Remember yesterday..."
- A lot of SIA ads...my favourite was the one showing a guy rushing to an orchestra concert, and he arrives just in time to stike the last note on a triangle.

Others...

The song Singapura...the lyrics as I first learned it was:

Singapura, oh Singapura
Thee I honour, thee I adore...

Instead of "Sunny island set in the sea"

Anyone remember the song "Planting rice is never fun"?

Whoa so I'm not that old...

dun forget the totally cheesy dating show from ch8 jin tong yu nu... my parents were glued to it every nite when i was young.

scary... i actually know all the stuff synapseman listed... plus colombo court. :sweatsm:

and who remember doing ur sch checkups at the old outrum school health clinic?
and drinking milk every morning in those triangle tetrapaks?
brushing teeth along the longkang?
coke, sinaco, kickapo etc... in real glass bottles?
eating kaka?
movie tickets used to be in thin slips of paper?
bus tickets with bus conductors punching holes?
national theatre?

Guess we should start off with images of the past instead in words. Cos i do see some hawker vendors used 7-up glass bottle to keep their sesame oil. :)
