hi all! finally can report in after missing 2 days of actions here.. :(

Well, I understand if you use 50mm f/1.8 to use it as macro coz it's dirt cheap... However, 300 f/4 not exactly a cheapo lens leh... :bsmilie: what's the secondary usage besides macro?

Ask Pasay, he was the one who showed me a pro photographer using the 70-200 for portrait shoots. Actually, though very tight, it still allows you to get closer from afar... Head and upper shoulder shoot with good bokeh also. It depends on your angle and perspective of course. I think any fast prime / zoom is good as long as you know how to utilise the FL well...

hmmm.. cos would prefer more working distance from the subject during macro.. and don't know why recently self posion with tele prime and got hooked onto the 300mm f/4.. :bsmilie: maybe can shoot headshots with this lens and sometimes it works well during airshow/zoo/jbp?

and 70-200 for wedding? hmmmm.. makes me wonder.. maybe i don't have much experience with wedding that's why i think it is not really practical.. and by FL u mean? o.O

FL standing for Fibonacci Longitudinal diffraction... it's a really complex system built into the lens...

waaa... i think need to google for more information.. totally new to this term..

just googled.. zero relevant results..

Well, since your primary use of the 300 f/4 is for airshows and just wanna try it out with macro fitting, then go for it! :)

I'm planning to use 70-200 for the airshows too, coupled with a 1.7x or 2x teleconverter. In broad daylight should be okay even if I'm getting f/5.6...

not enough reach, must go with the 200-400 with 1.7x

Sorry lah... I could be meaner and play it on further... :bsmilie: My bad, my bad...
it's ok.. i am fine with it as it brings laughter to this thread.. :bsmilie:
p.s. forgiven but not forgotten :P

so right now i need to know how does each macro fittings work?
-Raynox DCR 250 considered to be under close up lens category?
-extension tubes work on all lenses?
-extension tubes are those that are mounted in between the body and the lens right?
-what other macro fittings are there? o.O

You've tried is it? :)

going to soon.... i hope(on my knees praying it will come soon...)

krig, for the studio session i might be bringing the VR2, so u can test in real life use, rather than shop and NSC,.....
