Come, you and me go down to TK and buy our lenses - I think you can hear the salemen ringing $ka-ching$ $ka-ching$ in their ears... :bsmilie:

Macro fitting har... You can try reverse mount the 300mm f/4... :sweatsm:

wakakakaka, correct me if im wrong, using extension tube is to reduce ya MFD, but the MFD for the 300/4 is like errrr... can meh... interesting to know also, thou i never or will ever go macro...

ya welcome, just doing my share to spread the posion,:)

Today at my friend's babygirl b-day party I got to try out TTL with my SB900... Much room for improvements... but portrait orientation, I think I need to get Custom Bracket's flash set-up... More like a need to have than a want... for portrait shoot I can't bounce the flash off anything if I mount the flash gun on the D90...

so right now i need to know how does each macro fittings work?
-Raynox DCR 250 considered to be under close up lens category?

Raynox 250 is this piece of glass that you can attach in front of your lens. Allows for much bigger magnification, but reduces working distance considerably. Must check if its compatible with your lens though, as on certain lenses it may have severe vignetting. Exp, on the 18-105 kit lens unless you zoom in all the way, vignetting is very obvious.

-extension tubes work on all lenses?

I would think so, have only tried on my kit lens and 50mm though.

-extension tubes are those that are mounted in between the body and the lens right?

yeah it is, it reduces the minimum focusing distance so that you can go closer to the subject.

-what other macro fittings are there? o.O

There are close up filters, but those seem quite expensive. During 1 of my macro outings, 1 of the guy said he paid almost 200 bucks for it.
Alternative methods are reverse mounting your lens, but for reverse mount, the smaller the focal length, the bigger the magnification, so 300 f/4 is outta the question :bsmilie:
If you are really into macro, nth beats a dedicated macro lens haha

What I'm trying to say is... I may not be able to wait that long... ;)

300mm has a 77mm filter thread... Raynox can fit it meh? If can... I don't think it would be cheap with all those glass surface area...

I was merely suggesting the reverse mount in jest... sorry again...

77mm ah, then cannot liao lol. Kit lens is 67mm, and thats the max liao IIRC. When i tried clipping on the raynox, it was at the maximum liao

:bsmilie: I'll remember to jio you when that day comes.

Hmmm.... yeah I think I better go check the Omnibounce... but if you want flash always on top... no running away from the bracket I'm afraid...

actually the use for bracket was back when speedlite cld not rotate only tlit up and down,
if i aint wrong ar.... now all can, so the use for brackets have phased out, although some still use it, cost with the range of modifiers that is available now, the prob has been solved, not only that, having a bracket just put on extra weight only...

Dun think can use a down-step ring and crop the vignetting out right? :bsmilie: I think Raynox is a clunky fitting unlike close-up filters...

That could be a lens Weegk needs... but any "VR" or not?....

got tripod collar, so pair up with a monopod or tripod, tah dah, VR.... hehehehehehe...

Tokina lah dey, since we they go VR, VC,IS thingy..

:sweat: You just reminded me that the flash can rotate sideways... Ay carambas! I TOTALLY forgot about that! .... well, Omnibounce is all that I need then....

Total screw up... too busy shooting - oh what a newbie I am with the flash... LOLZ! Heng ah... luckily not actual event...
