Here is a 4x5 pinhole cam made cheaply from a wooden rice measuring box from Daiso

Drill a hole and put in a bubble level

Glue or nailed 2 pieces of wood of appropriate width so that the 4x5 film holder sit in tightly.

Pinhole is about 0.3mm on a thin brass foil. A hole is drill on the wood and the pinhole pasted over it using .....tape :)

Focallength is abt 90mm . therefore the aperture is about f300.

nice, did u paint the inside black ?

yes, i did. i also paste black tape all over the joints inside to light proof it.

can't wait to see the results! :)

here we go :

f300. 13mins exposure on Shanghai 100 4x5. Light leak on lower side which I will have to fix.

Very sharp. All my pinhole attempts have come out looking very blur, though admittedly those have been on 35mm or 120.

you know... i wonder if it is possible to adapt this to shoot photo paper instead...

since this uses a 4x5 film holder, you can use the 4x5 Harman Direct Positive Paper. Some have uses normal 4x5 photo paper to get a paper negative. The paper negative can contact printed or scan and invert to get a positive. The ISO of paper is about 6 so you need a bright sunny day or a slightly bigger aperture so that the exposure time won;t be too long.

TS, u are very creative!

thank you but i must admit i drew inspirations from the many DIY pinhole cameras i saw online. Daiso box made the job easier. there are smaller boxes suitable for making Medium format pinhole cams.
