Anyway, who use Hyper U.? I notice that its just a Raw convertor and able to do tethered. But is that just all??? How about White Balance etc etc.. like C1 pro? Care to guide me along with that? thanks alot

Haha. Have tried same thing a while back. No need to guess outcome.

However, suggest you do a Auto-Org-Org-Off comparison for skin tonal values. You will be surprised how much quality diff, at ISO800/low-light and then at ISO200/studio. Use a standard 50mm f1.8.

What is the distinct difference between 6mp image(jpg) to 12mp jpg to 12mp raw?

I am just speculating here but since the 12mp of the S3pro is not effective pixels, it should lose out to the D2X in terms of resolution.

As for the difference between 6mp jpeg and 12mp jpeg, it would be resolution i.e. how big a print you can go. Difference between raw and jpeg would be that raw preserves more details than jpeg as jpeg are compressed.

Hope I am right in the above explanation at least that was what I thought it was :bsmilie:

No fight, the D2x 12MP is real and sharp, the S3pro 12MP is usable, but certainly not real data.

By observation, you can probably say that 12MP on the S3pro is about 8MP worth. But the shadow details of teh S3pro is better, and the highlights are less blown, compared to the D2x. Overall, the D2x is a MUCH better imaging machine, but if you are not printing LARGE (10" x 15") and above, and you need not a tough body, a fast shutter or data transfer, or that dynamic range and colours are important for you, and finally, great cost concerns, then the S3pro will perform pretty well for the price you pay.

I have seen printed D2x vs S3pro, no fight, D2x is sharper, S3pro is nicer.

All this is of course, personal opinion and observations.

Actually in terms of colors, I would say the D2X is also comparable, well mebbe not as vivid as the s3 pro kinda like provia versus velvia?

If I send my camera for cleaning, how long will it take? Will they upgrade the firmware for me? Do they charge me even when I still on warranty? If not, how much? Hee

the service centre don't do CCD cleaning for free (I had tried). upgrade firmware is free (they did it for me)

err..., many times have you tried. (for me I had tired many times before can get rid the dust)
