Personally, there are a number of "features" on my S3 (and on most dSLRs for the matter) that I don't use. The AF-assist lamp being one of them. When I do my night shots of stray cats, I don't use anything that tips them off to me, that includes hardly using flash. Landscapes by night don't ever require it either. And for street-shooting, I'm more comfy with my Coolpix for low-light conditions. Sorry, Tim, can't help you there.

Josho, you may want to send it in to get a check then, especially if it is lodged on the same spot. On the other hand, if you are constantly pushing f22 or tighter apertures, you will see all sorts of specks. Regular (and proper) blowing will help. There are those who swear by blowing-only, too.

Upcoming weekend (19/20th) wanna do an outing? I'll plan a colourful area with a range of flora/architectural/abstracts/street (sample below). Who's game?

Finally, will be free for a week or so. So if the Fuji users want to, sign up for the upcoming series of AG outings. AG120, AG122, AG123, AG124, AG125 will all be to rarely explored places in Singapore. Most of these will be very colorful, suited very well to the rich colors of your S1/S2/S3 Pros.
