No need swab, just eclipse solution, pec-pad and a DIY-shaped plastic knife/ice-cream stick will do. Many people doing that, and no harm on sensor, cheap, too.

Hi everybody. :D

Josho - the HU software on the Fujifilm site is just an update. You'll need the original one to install it. That said, it will be quite pointless unless you are doing RAWs and shooting tethered. HU is a rather clunky software.

About the outing.... Very soon... Hari Raya okay for you folks?

For HU, there are several people that you can contact, search this Fuji Department of Clubsnap, some names will come up, and they can help you.

or shd i post it in canon site too? lol

food for though anyone?

;)

based on personal experiences with digital SLRs from Kodak, Canon, FujiFilm, Nikon.. and a host of others...

in my humble and personal opinion... FujiFilm has the best colour followed by Kodak. Kodak's pretty good too!

but the VF buangz to the max...:bsmilie:

I havnt played with kodak before...
for me its
fujifilm, canon then nikon
(talking about best colour here which is subjective)
:)

Hahaha... I have to agree with Cheesecake.

Personal taste - I do not like the output from the earlier Canons I've tried (10D and 1Ds). And I certainly do not like Sony sensors.... The D100 was a contender for my earlier dSLR use, though it lost to the S2 Pro on color repo and out-of-cam. The Kodak.....eh priced itself out of range then. Now, I'm comfy with the S3 Pro and will stay till both're fully depreciated (by my own standards), which would be Jun 2006.

WOah. Thanka timothy and Azure.

And yes, Azure, I uses Raw and Tethered with my camera too. :)
I will upgrade both firmware on my S3 and my HU of V3.0 :)

hehe 2 s.w to install tonight. hehe

Cheers

Hehe.... I got a chance to see the actual S3 Pro CCD up close yesterday. So plain and small, it is smaller even than my CF card. According to the techs, it has got to be soldered on, instead of using some jack (as in the S2). And it is so fragile.

Words of advice from the tech folks - don't let dust stay on your CCD for too long. They can end up permanently scratching or staining the sensor. Also take very good care of your S2/S3 bodies. Even tiny tears (like the plastic strip along the mode dial) can admit dust into the body and hence contaminate the CCD.

Happy shooting, everyone.
:D

I kept seeing 1 dot appearing on my pic even u have clean it off for me the last time... hehe...

wow..

sounds really serious man...

guess i really need to make an afford to clean the dust off...

:)

I don't know whether anyone has experienced something like else

1. turn off the assist focus light from the control menu.
2. when try to turn on, but S3 will take quite some time to get assist focus light to turn on???

or else I will have call up service center again

Personally, there are a number of "features" on my S3 (and on most dSLRs for the matter) that I don't use. The AF-assist lamp being one of them. When I do my night shots of stray cats, I don't use anything that tips them off to me, that includes hardly using flash. Landscapes by night don't ever require it either. And for street-shooting, I'm more comfy with my Coolpix for low-light conditions. Sorry, Tim, can't help you there.

Josho, you may want to send it in to get a check then, especially if it is lodged on the same spot. On the other hand, if you are constantly pushing f22 or tighter apertures, you will see all sorts of specks. Regular (and proper) blowing will help. There are those who swear by blowing-only, too.

To the rest of the S2/S3 users -
Upcoming weekend (19/20th) wanna do an outing? I'll plan a colourful area with a range of flora/architectural/abstracts/street (sample below). Who's game? :D

Hi Barnie,
If the outing is a "on" can I collect the tray on that day?
Thanks.
