Of course their decision is final. They own this place. Do you think it was ever a democracy?

Good for you to know and realise that they own this place and you do not, period. No body own a place and let others have the democracy to run their property, especially to ingrates who think the owners owes them a living.

It has been stated and will now state it again; nobody is forcing anybody to join this forum, that is as democratic as it can be period.

I suggest you don't bring in religion, and ironically, the Catholic Church, when one is talking about moral convictions and their "clear moral compass".

I suggest you understand language better. I'm not bringing in religion. I'm bringing in an example of moral conviction.

And who might those ingrates be? People who speak their minds?

Is that your definition? or interpretation? Anyway go figure it yourself, you should be smarter than that.

I will not be engaging you on this. As I will not allow this thread to go off the TS original intention of making an announcement.

I agreed with WaiLeong's comment about the moral conviction. Since Ban has been confirmed, it will be a hinder for CS Singapore to educate the "indefinite" of art. Hope the admin team could one day lift the ban and have "ban is banned for art".

Well, then you shouldn't be calling people ingrates. Most of all with a moderator status.

There's no need to hope, we have already stated very clearly "If/when social mores mature and stigmas are removed, perhaps we can revisit this in future.".

At the end of the day, TNP was just an impetus to tell us that we need to move a little faster in the direction we were contemplating, that's all. A kick to get us off the thinking stage. No big deal. If its too difficult to understand that a sensationalistic TNP article was not the reason we embarked on this path, then I guess, by waileong's interpretation, we the Admin Team have no moral convictions.

I have to agree that calling someone ingrates is a little too much. Ultimately, we are all here on our free will and mutual respect is needed on top of the rules and regulations imposed by the admin/moderators.

I can understand the points from both angles. To me, as Darren has mentioned, only Organised Nude shoot on CS is not allowed. Those who wants to organise/shoot can do it off the CS platform.

let's all chill, go back home and shoot your spouse in nude.

we photographers know about what is quality and what isnt, what's artistic, and what's not.but, <snip>

Actually, I've my doubts about the above statement.
The way the shoot that sparked this whole thing off was promoted did tout the past professional experiences of the model. There was no need for that as its not directly related to her ability to hold a pose.
But the fact is, it was sold as such, and thus there is a stronger possibility of attracting a certain type of photographer. Whom, IMO, may not have a very firm grasp of the above concepts.

Do note however, that I mean no disrespect for the model in question. What she does in her professional or personal life is of no business of mine nor do I pass or imply any prejudice.

regards

rf

Well, I have to wonder if mods are subject to infractions for name-calling and breaking cs rules, or are they above the law so to speak.

May I point out that "revisit" is a non-committal term.

It's typically used to placate people, esp when unpopular policies are announced.

Thus, no firm promise has been made.

a tactic famously used and reused by those in the political arena.

And will continue to be used (but not abused, hopefully) in the future.

Hmmmmm, since we are morally unconvicted Administrators, I don't know ... should we subject them to infractions. I just don't know ... cannot decide, grey area. Ahhhh leave it for now lah .....
