Hi fengwei, is that possible to take this picture just only using 100 WR Macro?

Any way, can you show us when the lens at it macro 1:1 without the hood? Hope it won't look ridiculous like the old one!

According to the Pentax Authorized in Vietnam, the price for this one would be around 650 USD.

i hope it works as well on my k100d super.

Now i feel like my k100d super is antique. =(

Yeah, it's taken by the 100WR macro, with K7 and the AF540 flash. When taken off the hood, the lens looks the same as the old one. That's why I keep the hood on all the time :)

Price here should be inline or cheaper than the price you were quoted.

Yeah, sure it'd work well w/ K100D, or any other Pentax dSLR camera.

If the local price is really cheaper than US$650, then I am tempted..;p

SLR revo gave me an Idea how much DFA costs last night. It's still tentative though, but the price is quite good.

Bro whats the price? Share lah..:)

still not sure bro. cannot give as may create havok. :bsmilie:
but guaranteed good price at par with DA limiteds.

but expect more expensive than the old DFA 100 :)

correction: within the most expensive DA limited price, or exceeds a bit.

Which is the most expensive DA Limited? Is it the DA70mm? If it is, then I roughly know how much the DFA 100 WR is going to be.;p

So looks like somewhere between $800 and $900, probably nearer to $900

I thought I was immune to the DFA 100 WR but now I find that I am slowly sucummbing to this poison.. Hope I can hold out..

No more updates on this lens? How does it compare against the 77mm limited?

Different animals lah. If 77 is in an own class of its own and opens up to f1.8. Just that it doesn't do macro.

When you mean it dosent do macro means it cant focus at close range or its is not sharp at macros ?

That means it cannot focus too close to the subject . . . Not a macro lens . . .

Have a look here
For the DFA 100WR Marco
http://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/SMC-Pentax-DFA-Weather-Resistant-100mm-F2.8-Macro-Lens.html

For the FA 77mm F1.8 Limited
http://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/SMC-Pentax-FA-77mm-F1.8-Limited-Lens.html

The min focus is between those 100WR and the 77mm is 30cm and 70cm respectively.
Think it can't focus at close range :bsmilie:

Who says the FA 77mm can't focus at close range?
Of course it can, I've done it.

Of course what we ought to be talking about is the maximum magnification.
The FA 77mm is a short telephoto and not originally designed with macro in mind, so it only goes to 0.14x magnification. However FA 77mm users can achieve higher magnification ratios by using supplementary close-up lenses, extension tubes or reverse rings... or by cropping.

The DFA 100mm f/2.8 Macro WR is a true macro lens, allowing 1x magnification (1:1 or lifesize) of the subject. Moreover it is flat field corrected, which allows even center to edge image sharpness, useful when copying or shooting flat objects.
