IC you're doing a great job. Get the condition under control and discuss with your son how he can control the itching as well (that is with distractions....keeping hands and minds occupied with other things). Since you're using Western medicines for the moment, antihistines will dull the itch and at least give the skin time to heal.
Side effect for me is that I feel really tired if I take them in the day. If I take them at night, I feel like a truck has rolled over me when I wake in the morning.

If I may add, avoid touching it with your fingers. Scratching, scrubbing, peeling or rubbing will not help the condition either. I had been thru it and I know its not easy to overcome it.
A skin specialist once advised me to use shampoo to bath and it worked. Shampoo contains moisturizers and was quite soothing after a shower. For face, use a very mild soap if face is oily. If its not oily and eczema is affecting the region, just use tap water to rinse and dab dry.
If you are on steroids based medication, stop using it for next three weeks. It may help speed up recovery. THis is my discovery, but may not apply for others. Asthma doctors would not agree with me about steroids though.
Hi Haze
I know how you feel. I had eczema on my face as a teenager and it was aweful when the skin was flaking off. Right now with winter (am in the UK), the heating causes the skin on my face to become very dry. Despite putting cream on every day, I look like a person suffering from mild leprosy (that's how I feel sometimes when I have constant skin dangling off my face).
What keeps me going is that conditions always appear worst to oneself than it is to anyone else and if it isn't then they will either stare or physically move away from you when you come close. Folks have said they have not noticed - they are either being kind or it really is not as noticeable as one believes.
IMHO physical attributes are superficial and I believe although people may be a little concerned when they look at any one of us who suffers from skin ailments, that soon goes when they are speaking to you.
Kindness, love, joy, humility, humbleness cannot be hidden by physical attributes.
Be strong in your character and know what comes out of your mouth is far more important than how the surface of your skin appears.
However, still recommend you find a proper TCM doctor to help you resolve your ailments or think about a diet change for a month. Look for ones that detox the liver. Also if you have the chance - go swimming in the sea.
Wishing you lots of positive energy to help you.
Compare to the rest, my problem is not that serious. But I am wondering, will I able to recover *sigh*..
My face is dry , use to have oily skin, but now can't even see "shine" on my face.
Personally when folks tell me "don't scratch" and "you'll make it worst".....makes me focus even more on the problem. Slapping my hand off an itch area also seems to make me want to scratch more.
Use Fisogel A1 Hope I got the spelling correct. That one good but expensive. About 60 for 1 tube.
Oh dear, sad to see your son suffering from a terrible disease.
I remember reading an article about another ezecma sufferer,it says that the parents resorted to making the child put on boxing gloves when she sleeps so she wont scratch till the skin bleed.
Perhaps u could try this method.
Good luck, and hope your son wont suffer so much.
There is another TCM in Chinatown which i accidentally found out from my friend yesterday during a friendly chat. I believe this is the one my father was talking abt. His charges are very cheap and reputation is also very good. He has clinics in Singapore and London. Will find out details and post it here in this thread.
My friend whose son was suffering from constant coughing with thick phlegm. Will wake up constantly at night with cold sweat due to cough. Has been rushing around specialists and various medications but to no avail. Got recommended by a friend and was healed after 3 days.
Hi Ihsan,
Can you give me the contact for the TCM in chinatown, my 8 month old boy is coughing for over 1 month due to persistent running nose and phlegm, got admitted to KK twice to clear nose, but he still cannot recovered. The first time he got admitted, it has developed into bronchrolistis and 2nd time he develop to pneumonia. He is taking antobotic now with other phelgm and nose medication. I want to switch him to TCM as I really think western medicine is not doing him any good. He is still very young, so I dont want him to be harm by all the western medicine.
The TCM is Dr Feng. His clinic number is 65385586. You need to call whether he is around.
Thanks Ihsan and Smalltake.
Ihsan, really thanks for the contact, I will call now.
I will stay positive and try my best to cure my son![]()

After last night, I was thinking of getting surgical gloves but I am not sure whether it is breathable.
