Delhi & Uttar Pradesh rejoiced (horizontal series)

everyone getting hyped up with a monkey engrossed with his food. one guy is using his compact while the other guy from the lower ground is also looking upwards

a wide angle is used to capture the activities but all 3 focus are small in size and does not draw drama. however, i'm limited by my position on the balcony and does not have the option to draw perspective nearer to any of the 3.... i will post a vertical shot later in the vertical series of the tele close-up which is less story telling but more aesthetically dramatic, here

p.s. looking retrospectively, i think both are somewhat plain and unprovocative. i think the tele feature compresses everything and depth is not there.

#56 taj mahal conventional view

Bro,
Sad to say but this is not really amongst your best photos :( . Taj is such a beauty, the flowers (even though they are blurred, they are just too colorful) distract the viewers attention from its beauty.
Do you have a photo where the flowers are not in the foreground ? I would love to see that.

my taj photos ain't well taken, esp when no tripod is allowed. will post one without the flowers at a later time...

i think the flower gave a layer to the image, creating depth. that is my 2 cent worth view

to be self critical, the intent is to make the taj mahal as a background to the flowers. however, as the lighting condition is not optimum and having no exact sunrise, i added a grad ND filter which has unfortunately a reddish color tinge and is not exactly clean after prolonged use. this sort of affected the colors of the taj when it bring out the colors in the sky. on top of that, the reflection demanded an even more criticial requirement of the color and the tone (reflection is usually deeper in tone, but the hue must not differ too much). in order to remove the color cast from the taj, a lot of details are lost in the processing, giving a dull appearance to the taj, my mistake.

not to mention the tree on the right. we so want to cut it down. heheheeh :D

I really love your Taj Mahal pic! It looks very surreal, like a watercolour painting!
Just browsed through all your pics and I must say they are very beautiful! The colours are so vivid!

How do you get those vivid colours and the nice contrasts? Polarizer?

wasn't intended to be surreal and actually i dun think that is suitable or nice for this shot. as for the colors, they are brought out by the grad ND filter by suppressing exposure in highlight area. and the colors for the flowers are as such, i seldom or never use the saturation function becos the contrast details are often lost.
