This is......... breathtaking..

was lucky with it but the poor positioning of the boats is suggestive that the birds are flying so fast that i can't really composed properly. but well, there are people who can do it though...

This is one thread that I keep coming back to. Very inspirational and some really interesting point of views.

Please do post new ones. If not I'll be like a idiot looking at the same photos over and over again :bsmilie:

the interesting POV may have a lot to do with my amateurish approach. this is my most satisfied trip becos of the lighting and the shooting opportunities.

though i've probably depleted more than 80% of the postable pics for this trip, i will try to squeeze a few more when i'm home, but then i'm afraid they are going to be rather average-looking.

allahabad kumbh mela pilgrimage ground, women (think so) dressing up
and flipping the coat over the shoulder/ still not happy with the tonal
distribution of this pic, but may only return when my acuity for that is
better.

u always have endless photos to post!

this trip is highly productive due to good weather (except for the cold after-midnight at kumbh mela)

zoosh, that's phenomenal bokeh. what lens is this?

50mm f/1.8 AF-D Nikkor, cheap, light and good.
at close shot, i need my subjects head on.
if they slant their face, one of the eyes will be off focus.

the effect and approach is quite different from 30mm f/1.4 which despite being larger aperture is much wider. still prefer 50mm over 30mm, but haven't yet try the 85mm lens...

becos there are pictures that i may go back to look again. i have a little attention deficit so i tend not to be able to stay at one spot and go chronological, tend to hop here and there.
plus i think i have process pictures better and more controlled when compared to before, so it isn't a bad idea. i dun think my composition and shooting skills have improved much though.
