Hi All,
I bought mine yesterday from Audio House.
Apart from the standard kit (18 - 105 VR)
1x 4 gig card (Toshiba)
1x 8 gig card (Kingston)
Tripod (quite flimsy but functional)
Lens cleaning kit (Emora)
Camera bag (Digicase - tight fit)
Digi-Cabi DB036 (Electronic dry cabinet)
Ownuser DX-FBH function battery holder
Paid $1988
The three items in the centre are pretty much can do without cos I have a tripod already.
The sales person Who attended to me, John Liew (If I remember correctly), was very friendly and helpful.
He even did a check on the camera (dead pixels and all that) willingly.
Forgot to buy a filter though. My bad.
In the few hours that I've played with my new toy,
No complains, except perhaps the AF could've been a little faster?
Still fooling around with it.
And BTW, I'm new here,
And it's my first DSLR (was on SLR, then DPnS).
So hope everybody will kindly forgive my stupid questions in the future.
Hee...
finally i've joined the league as a proud owner on sunday! haha. got mine from max photo centrepoint 1690, paid with CC. threw in a Lowepro EX160 for 55, and a no brand UV filter for 25.
actually i was offered a hoya filter for 49, and a hoya multi-coated one for 100+ (dun bother to remember the price) but thought it doesn't make a difference. am i right? could somebody kindly shed some light on this?
I'm picking up my D90 this afternoon
I'm getting it from Max Photo at AMK.
D90 kit with 18-105mm + 4GB - $1650 inc GST.
Freebies:
Loewe Pro Bag
1.5m Tripod.
I was tossing up between the Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 50D. I hope I won't be disappointed!
Can anyone comment on the AF speed? Is it really that slow compared to other models/brands?
You'll very soon regret not to buy the quality filter. Try search around here in this Nikon section, there was this guys with his cheapo filter complain about his poor picture quality taken by his new D90 and after few analysis by most sifu here he then realize it's the true he used cheapo quality of filter. You pay $$$$ for a premium quality.
Congrats on ur buy and welcome to CS.
Wonder what happened to the free 4GB Lexar card, think its slightly faster than the kingston n toshiba. Haha, do grab your filter b4 ur next outdoor shoot and enjoy your camera! Soon it'll be time to upgrade your dry cab, then ur cam bag after you add in more lenses and flash to ur setup.... BBB![]()
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Agree with the bag, it's really just a little too small.
The camera's more for work and family outings so
At most is add a flash (which one is good for D&D group photo hah?).
Was told that the old lenses from my F60 are compatible so will
Probably resuscitate them (any good overhaul place to help?)

Can more sifus here comment on quality filters? which brands and series of filters qualify as quality. Cost is only 1 determinant since some black shops can sell no brand filters for $50. Is Kenko Pro any good? Any filter ranking system someone care to share?
