so those who now know... when you buy a mobile phone and the salesperson says "first charge ___ hours", ask for documented proof! :bsmilie::thumbsup::thumbsup:
That's what I have been saying. Only older Ni based batteries need the long first charge.

Bought D90 kit 2 days back at CP.
M mode basically gives you consistent exposures from shot to shot, but when trying to learn, it might be better to use some of the automated features first (eg. Program Auto or Aperture Priority) to minimize the number of decisions you need to makeChunky words.. but read!now I get it. Hurhur,I'm still trying out my D90 though,M mode most of the time.

Well, a silly thing would be using M mode and then adjusting the shutter speed or aperture so that the camera meter reads 0. Could have just used A or S mode and let the camera choose the other.
congrats on your purchase.Hi guys, Just got my D90~
Glad to join the clubIt's a really nice and good cam~ ^^
Still trying to find time to read manual. Perhaps will read over e weekend.![]()
hehehe selling off my D80 kit and buying the D90 body only involved an additional outlay of about $150, which I felt was worthwhile.
I really like the 3" LCD with the info display, and more customisable WB when shooting in JPG.
Not forgetting the cleaner images at high ISOs.
