hi,

wanna ask is AF 50mm f/1.8D n f/1.4D is not compatible with d90?

Yes. they are.. these are non-cpu lens screw driven by the motor in D90 so AF's possible.

Do note that they are meant for full frame usage, so do factor in the crop of 1.5 when coupled with ur D90, ultimately u get 75mm FOV :)

Hi all,

I realise the d90 flash sync speed is quite slow at 1/200. Any one can recommend a affordable and good externa flash that has a FP mode to increase the sync speed? Thanks :)

so no one can recommend me a decent flash that works well with the auto fp mode of my d90? :(

i am considering Tumax DPT386AFZ, but i heard it does support the fp mode and increase sync speed to over 1/200 but photos taken all pitch black? haha

Nissin 866 supports fp mode as well. but im not sure if it can operate properly :dunno:

and price slightly over my budget...

no experience whatsoever with 3rd party flash.

U def recommend u save enough to get at least a decent one in SB600 :)

But sb600 only can get to 1/320 sync speed :(

But sb600 only can get to 1/320 sync speed :(

have u done ur homework before u posted this? this can misleads others u know :)

Most current flashguns like SB600, SB900 n (including discontinued Sb800) supports Auto FP High-Speed Sync which enable u to go beyond minimum sync speed.

Hope this clarifes.

oh sorry. am i wrong? i done my homework in CS forum. haha. its stated by some Cs-er that sb600 can only reach 1/320? pls kindly correct me if im wrong. but anyway its well over my budget :(

I think you need to read what Auto FP does.

D90 flash sync speed max is 1/200 with any flash.
D300(s) flash sync speed max is 1/320 with any flash.

If you enable Auto FP, you can exceed that sync speed, but at the expense of flash power.

Just got my D90 today! I had a good deal from Challenger Mini, and cos I had some nice vouchers at the same time to offset it.
Was choosing between this and Pentax Kx..
Can I ask for recommendations for affordable UV filters for the kit lens?

UV filters tested and compared:

Personally, I use Kenko Pro1D protector filters mostly. I use some Kenko Pro 1D UV filters for old film lenses.

Hi futsal123, how much is your D90 set from John3:16? I also considering of getting a kit set.

Hi all, just got my D90 2 weeks back. Have been wondering what size and quality of pictures you all set to?

Initially set to small+normal (so that i can take more :D) but now change to medium+normal. Does 'fine' quality means the picture output will be much better or what?

Usually I take landscape/portraits only. In future going macro and zoom.

Any advice for newbie here? Thanks.

Hi guys, have tried searching the forum but cannot get the answer. What picture quality and picture size you all use for your shoot?

Its up to you, Different people use different format depending on their shooting stlye. You can find the info in your manual ;)

Depends on individual, there's no hard fast rule..

Personal preference, JPEG Large with RAW, though space consuming on my SD, i get to retain the highest quality out of my pics and can fall back onto my raw if i need to do additional pp work.. I do have a couple of backup memory cards for CF/SD so its nt a major concern to me.

JPEG L + Raw as i do not see the need to conserve memory. memory is quite cheap these days. can use JPEG if lazy to PP

No problem :)
Go get it, you won't have any regrets.
You will only regret if you dont get it...
