Can a Nikon Lens Series E 50mm 1:1.8 be use on a D90?

Yes, it will mount on the D90, and you will be able to take pictures with it. But you have to do manual focus, and manual exposure (M mode only). And no exif information about focal length and aperture will be recorded.

oh ok, btw i tried adjusting the exposure compensation from -5 to +5. but there are not difference in my shots. do you guys face this problem ?

mind posting a few test shots with -5 and +5 EV, with settings you used? -5 and +5 are extreme opposites, you ought to have noticed differences even at just -1 to +1 EV

I'm not too sure about what is happening in this case, but i do remember having this problem when i just bought my d90. but it's all good to me now. always usable and i can trusts me D90 with it's EV. :D

Anyone got idea with how much D90 body only selling in store now? Price guide is kinda outdated...

ISO 200
Shutter Speed 1/8
Aperture f/6.3
Exposure compensation -5

You are using Manual mode, where you set both the shutter speed and aperture. If you do that, you are supposed to control all the variables of the exposure. The meter only "informs" you of the metering estimation in the metering bar and takes no action for you. When you change EV compensation, the meter reading will change (on the bar), but since you told the camera you are the master of the exposure (M mode), the camera will do nothing in terms of exposure. Try your experiment again in A or S mode. And see the difference. Notice how the shutter speed and aperture value changes for each shot. And you will understand how EV compensation work.

Or you can read this: How does EV really work?

BTW, if you are very new to DSLR, you need to understand how your camera works, and you should not start with the M mode, without a solid understanding of exposure. I suggest you start reading and learning here: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=309544

Prices always fluctuates.

It will be best to call the reputable stores for price quotes, and ask for equotes from those that have email or website quoting system.

You get your answers faster that way, rather than post here and wait for the answer.

And price discussions in this thread is not allowed (as per moderator's instructions.)

You were probably in M mode. EV compensation has no effect on the exposure in M mode.

Thanks guy, I think better for me to call them up for quotation.

CS garage sales? where? buy sell section of forum... haha

dry cabinet price more or less the same. all is about $100+ for a 30L... the only difference i see is the type of meter they provide (analog or digital)

but analog or digital, the "warming up" process is the same right. My friend asked me to get digital one because the analog one takes a longer period to dehumidify. :/
