hello csers, i am interested in getting a D90, would you all advice to get a D90 now?
i look around the forum heard the price dropped and
also heard that there is a replacement for D90 soon, would like to ask if the replacement would have any major improvements like new technology which D90 does not have but currently some new models have it?
i am most likely will be the type that goes to the streets, overseas, parties, and those random point and shoot along the way,
i am interested in the one which has 18 to 105VR, because my brother in law has a D5000 with 35mm so can lend, oh and
how long does a fully charged batt last, able to shoot throughout the day so i need not bring a spare batt when i am overseas out on the streets.

i split the sentence out as questions haaa..
thank you =D

The D90 is already a very very good camera. If you are a beginner, it is your skills that need to catch up with what this little camera is capable of. By the time you get good enough on the D90 to need a better camera, the D90's replacement's replacement's replacement will be announced.

Thanks =D B3nji16 and daredevil123:thumbsup:

will go around finding the right price haaa looked at some shops recommended MSC, TK, AP has promo on D90 which states 1559 on their web nt sure if it has included all charges like GST has emailed them .. waiting for reply =D

You should be able to get D90 kit for less than that nowadays. Try calling SLR-R.

yup many ppl got their d90 kit from SLR-R @ $1477. but i think the price may have risen due to a hike in demand. the last time i called...the body is now selling @ $1280.

oh they changed to a mac software? haaa:think:

Long story... And I don't know the entire story too... Best to ask them directly if you do buy the D90 from them.

interesting. i've always heard of LORDS...but when i emailed them, nobody replied. so i thought they've closed shop. oh and their website is kinda old?

Lords is closed. But the former owners have set up shop and joined with iPhoto next door to their old shop.

Me too, I've never been to LORDS. But I-Photo I have, their contact number is obtainable in the Kopitiam Forum. When you call or visit, ask for Raymond (always).

Not associated with the business other than being a customer.

Question - as the D90 been REALLY surpassed by any competition model so far? Lets disregard comparisons on Video mode or other non-image related issues... If not, the D90 still has some lengths to go!

Has the recent 550D knocked D90 off its pedestal yet? I dunno, as it didn't affect me in my firm decision on the D90! :bsmilie:

I've already moved on from "which cam body to get?"... now I'm left with "what lens combo is great for the D90?"...

Not only a great combo for the D90. It depends on your kind of shoot too ;)

Well, I've served my Macro needs well for the moment. So I'm looking for a wide angle/zoom and a super zoom combo now. 28-80mm serves okay and it will hold the ground for the moment until I find something more fitting to replace it. Then it will go back to serve my F70... lol!
