Hi Guys :)

I just discovered something about my D90. Apparently, I was not able to set multiple shots together with the timer :(

I found this out while trying to take bracket shots at Punggol yesterday morning. A friend of mine who also uses the D90 was with me and his D90 was able to set multiple shots together with the timer. He bought his D90 just a few months back. I bought mine in Sep 2008.

Does anyone else here encounter this or could it be that I did not set something in the menus :dunno:

If you really have check and re-check the settings in the menu and compare to your friends settings. Then just reset the camera and follow how your friend set the menu.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried c3:Self-Timer option? There's Number of Shots option where you can set up to 9 pictures to be taken.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check it out this evening after work :)

Adjusted the setting. Thanks guys :D
This goes to show that no matter how long you have the camera, you don't know it well until you explore its features :bsmilie:

That is why iphone does not come with full user manual. They may realize that people don't fully read it and its waste of paper.

I sold off my 18-105 kit. Now I'm using a Tamron 18-250 bought from a fellow CSer.

Friends

I am also considering the D90. One thing that I read was that for HD movie recording at 720p, there is limitation of 5mins. I would like to check that I can do the another clip (assuming there is storage space) after the 1st 5 min.

Cheers

I have nt tried the video feature.. how big is the file size for a full 5mins? 1gb?

I read that it will take about 600MB for 5mins of 720p@24fps. I am ok to break up the video into several 5mins clips if need to.

Thanks

Since I understand that D90 can use both AF and AF-S lenses, would not it be cheaper if I use AF lenses? Any difference in autofocusing speed using the internal D90 motor versus the lens' motor?

Cheers

Lenses I use on the D90 mostly:

Tamron 17-50/2.8 non-VC
Nikon 50/1.8
Nikon 24-120 AFD
Nikon 55-200VR

Some others I use once in a blue moon:

Nikon 50/1.2 Ais
Nikon PC 28/3.5

Never had the 18-105 kit, bought the camera body only.

Yes. using AFD lenses is cheaper.

But some of the good legendary lenses only come in AFS version, no AFD. For example, 17-55/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 is only AFS.

And also, not all AF-S motors are built the same. Some cheap AF-S motors are slower... 18-55 comes to mind..
