there's nothing wrg with ur camera. go google and read up more on the focusing method used by the d90 on both viewfinder and live view, u'll find ur answer there :)

Thanks bro. =)

Hmm... is this lense good? Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4-5.6G ED VR. Can it shoot closed objects?

hey snowicezz... i tink its better for urself to find out rather than directly seeking pple's opinions cos some pple might say they use their 55-200mm everyday while some might just say that it's left in their dry cabi untouched.

start reading up on the technical bits of ur camera and about nikon lenses. info is everywhere online :)

but yea.. u have to start shooting first before picking up new stuff

hmmm, I am thinking too.. a macro lense. By the way, what is the price range? I think D90 have built in motor so should be no problem with those manual lense. Will go to the shop have a look these few days =) Just need the advise, is the VR is a must on the marco lense?

if you are deciding to get a non vr len, u better bring a tripod along.

Burboy,

the lense u mention AF-S VR Micro 105mm F2.8G is about how much?

Moreover, i am considering the zoom lense for shooting close up of insects budget around S$400-500 any recommended lense?

Thanks.

the len is close to $1.4k

AFD lenses are not manual lenses. They are also autofocus lenses, just that they will only autofocus with camera bodies with built in AF motor.

Manual lenses usually refer to older lenses like Ai, Ais lenses, or boutique lenses like Voigtlander lenses.

VR is not a must but it helps. If no VR, you have to use a tripod. If you are using a tripod, you must turn off the VR.

from my brief experience with marco lenses (try for fun), yes VR is very useful and needed
