One question,
My friend put his hands in front of my flash while i was taking a picture, the battery started blinking and the shutter release was disabled. Will anything happen to my camera?

And my friend got a heat shock to his hand. Lol

probably not... ur camera suffers from battery drained-out.. just recharge it and everything resumes :bsmilie:

Yesterday my friend bought a brandnew local set of D90 at Lucky Plaza for only $1200. On top of that he is able to for GST refund. So shocked that price of D90 is dropped so much.

wow... tats cheap!!...
yen dropping??...
but lucky plaza wor... anything wrong wif the set?...

Checked. The set in perfect condition, shutter count is 18 though. When I asked the guy why it's so cheap he said price for D90 has dropped?? That shop is the shop right in front of the entrance.

Sounds fishy. Sounds like they are in a hurry to clear that set at cost. Price haven't dropped anywhere else. Anyway, if under warranty, nothing to worry. remember to ask your friend to register the camera with nikon website. Will get 3 more months of extended warranty too.

just got my new D90 from ms color ...
but i notice there are two problems, first when i hold it facing up and down, i heard a little sound from inside the camera, is it normal?
the sound is like caused by something loose inside. should i bring it back to have a check? though it is fully functional. :embrass:

Secondly, i also i notice D90 shutter sound is quite loud, can hear the spring sound fliping the mirror inside, is it normal also ?

Why don't you rent the 2 system you mention to try out. After try out you can decide which system suits you better.

Turn off VR and see if you still hear the sound. No it is not normal. There shouldn't be anything loose inside the camera.

About the shutter sound, we have to hear it ourselves to know if it is normal or not. Either way, I think you should bring it down to NSC to have a check. If it is super new, one or two days old, bring it back to MSC for an exchange.

Always do a quick check run down with any equipment you buy at any store. Should be SOP.

not really, can hear the little sound when not shooting, just tilt the camera face up and down. not from the lens, from the camera body near the left of the view finder area.

Take it back to MSC. If they give you the run around, take it to NSC.

take back MSC to ask and they bring a new one to see if got the same sound. They said come from the mirror sensor, something like tat. so since the other new set also can hear that kind of sound, so i am more convience it is alright, anyway it fully functional and i try out today and i really love it !

Actually, I checked mine out and yes, there is that sound but it is very very faint. Almost not noticeable. Should be fine then.
