D90 User Group (thread II)

Only ED lens is autofocus, others is not. Using for my FM2, F3Hp and F90x

ED is Nikon's term for Extra-low Dispersion, a "special" lens element to reduce flare or something like that... anyway it has nothing to do with auto-focus.

edit: Curious to see your lens collection. Could I trouble you to photograph the lenses individually and post up here? HP camera also can, as long as enough detail to figure out what lens it is.

The last 2 nikon lens is autofocus lens, cos i used on my F90x.
The less is fully manual. I have few E lens also. All in manual.

You may need to do some research. I bought mine a month half back, it was on offer. 1460 for 18-105 kit with the usual free tripod,lcd screen protector and lens cleaning kit. got it at Alan Photo, but i dont know if the price is still the same

Prices might have fallen since a replacement model may be due soon so even if we recommend you to the stores we buy from, the prices may not necessarily be the best.

Are you sure they're all manual lenses?
for example, 50/1.4 is the AF-D version?
That one not only can meter, also can auto-focus with D90...

but anyway I can't be sure just by reading what you've typed... Have not swallowed the entire Nikon lens line-up yet.

Remember to bring black matte card hor, for squeezing in more fireworks in one pic...

I don't recommend buying at those shows.

Firstly, you have to WAIT for them, which means not being able to shoot in the meantime.
Secondly, they tend to sell close to the RRP, which is damn high. Then they throw in freebies which are usually not beneficial.
I can vouch for how "wonderful" the freebie Nikon-branded tripod is....


* Just so you're fully aware of it, D90's sensor is smaller than standard 35mm film size, and hence your field of view (through the viewfinder) is correspondingly narrower.
As a film user, you will definitely notice the difference when mounting the same lens to your F90 and then D90...
