For D90...recommended to use ISO 200... the Lo modes are not recommended (artifacts will arise) this coming from one of the Nikon tech guys I spoke to.

Btw, don't be afraid to use Aperture mode... it's the recommended mode for Landscape.. If you can to go full Manual, go ahead - but chances of images going haywire is quite great if you're in experienced.

Try to bracket your shots.

And for gawd sakes, after your trip to TK, dun tell me you stinged on getting at least a Wireless remote (message for OGL...) LOL

Pst... dun ask lah... maybe he wanna pose naked in front of the camera when shooting? :bsmilie:

is it? I didn't know its bad to shoot in lo 1. So far i didn't notice anything weird with lo 1. Maybe my eyes are not sharp enough to spot.

lolx.. naked o.0 i wonder wad he will do.. oh ya.. he was saying punggol shoot sunrise.. if i nv recall wrongly..

Ah-hem. Understood!

BTW switching on the exposure delay will be of some help as well right?

Helps delay the shutters from opening for 1 sec... Yes, probably recommended if you want to go ALL the way for vibration control... unless tripod still weak.. Nawwwwh!!!! :bsmilie:

Lo and Hi levels are there just in case you really need it... but if not... best just stick to solid ISO numbers 200 to 3200... Think of it this way, if can go 100 why not just state ISO100?? Why the Lo and Hi BS? :bsmilie:

If haven't spotted anything weird, lucky you loh... but don't bet on every single shot with it. I'm just the messenger - don't shoot me... lolz!

lolx.. gd point.. It has been a qns in my head since the day I had D90. I juz couldn't figure out y there is no ISO 100 at all. Instead it was lo 7, lo 3 lo 1 instead of ISO 100.

Actually I think ISO 100 would come in gandy if we had it. Jus think of it this way : longer exposure by abit. But every bit helps!

Since it's not there, no point lamenting... go 10 stop filter!

Anyway, if you wanna go Lo 3, go ahead, then shoot an ISO 200 for extra measures - in case any monkey business starts happening...

true.. I rather have a real ISO 100.

I did say Shutter Cord. Was trying to refer to the wired one. Not the badminton type

Yeah man. Got to wait for my ND110 to come in. :D

Like tt I think I should shoot in ISO 200 next time. I've been doing Lo 1.0 for some time

30 mins? I'm hurt... We only took a few mins. Haha. If your pictures turn out well, losing the amt of sleep is worth it. But for those without their own means of transport, well, photography just got a little more expensive. At least to me. Haha

okay, time to get into my bed. if not the sun will be too high in the morning for me to shoot. nite guys.

Actually its quite a bit more expensive haha. Sometimes i cab down to outings because its too early and far for public transport lol

morning guys...!
wah, so many posts...

ok to clarify the issue with ISO Lo. values on the D90, the main issue is dynamic range, not artifacts...
here, an excerpt from DPreview's assessment of D90:

ISO Sensitivity and Dynamic Range

The D90's sensor has a native sensitivity of ISO 200, with ISO 100 equivalent available by using the Lo 1 setting. The dynamic range of Lo 1 has almost exactly one stop less dynamic range in the highlight regions, which is what you'd expect from what is essentially an ISO 200 image overexposed by a stop.

Thanks for that bit of info ZCA. Looks like Lo.1 is but a gimmick. Wasted my time with that setting...

Thanks for the clarification. While it applies to the Lo. Values, what about the Hi ones?

So essentially the review is saying it's okay to use Lo 1 as if it's ISO 100? Provided I'm okay with the dynamic range of the image I've captured?... I'm a bit blurr now... :bsmilie:
