u can get in JB for decent price compare to SNG.
nikon malaysia warranty...doubt so u will encounter any problem in the 1yr if u take good care of ur equipment

How much will it be just the body alone?

If I nv remember wrongly John quoted me $1400 for the body alone... as for TK, they dun sell body alone. So body $1400 + the 18-200mm (probably another $1k) = $2400 ba

Juz gt my 18-105mm D90 last week at $1.66k

i also been looking D90 for quite a period of time... A lot of places no stocks.
Managed to get it from CP weeks ago..
Not sure whether there got stocks available or not.. can call to check it out...

I bought mine (last week) D90 with kit for 1788$ from HN, bought extra 4 year warranty for 250$.

It was Millenia walk ($1788 only body + lens - no extended warranty).
I heard in funnan HN they sell for $1688 but less free items (but frankly if you no need free items you can get from Funnan - given they have stock).
Call all of them and get the best price ;)

1xTripod.
1xSamsung Phone (80$).
3xScratch cards (when scratched total value was 40$ ;)).

I just went to HN Funan today. Guy quoted me $1699 for D90 + 18-105mm kit lens. Apparently they also go by $1488 for D90 + 18-55mm lens. I didn't know there's such a combination. anyway, only comes with 4GB card and 1 warranty (prob Nikon only).

Best Denki Tampines quoted me $1688 for D90 + 18-105 kit lens (sales man said they still following the nikon promo from june until further notice). did not ask about freebies.

CP-P quoted me $1750 for D90 + kit lens. a little exp.

The thing here is do they have the stock? I called HN Central, the guy asked me to pay first and wait for the stock to arrive. And the best thing is he has no idea when it will be restock.

if you can pay, sure can get..

So are you saying that they hide the stock inorder to jack up the price?

I don't think anyone will do that. To hide the stock to jack up the prices is just crazy. Then their stock will not move and they cannot make profit because people will just buy from elsewhere or buy another alternative.

The scenario is that those shops which sells at a price below MSRP will get their stocks depleted faster. Those who still stick with selling at MSRP will not see their stocks move so fast. So, you could decide to pay MSRP because the chances that the stocks are still available in those shops selling at MSRP is higher.

CP-P has stock at $1750... the only freebie is bag.

1750 + bag is not a good price.

D90 from TK or John316 is 1660. That leaves u 90 for a bag, and 90 can net u a pretty big/good bag.

Just got it from MS-O at $1699. Free bag, tripod and 4gb card. Cash payment.

You know what i don't like 1 thing about TK (i am not sure about John316) that they don't accept credit card (not even NETS as they told me that there will be extra cost i need to bear if use card NETS or CC), sorry but i don't carry like 2k in my purse.

Why i decided to buy from Harvery Norman, coz
1- When i extend warranty, value of items will be not depreciated along the period (5 years), i checked with Best denky and they replied that value will depreciate every year, i never checked with Courts (anyway their extended warranty was like 500$, whereas i paid only 250$ when bought from HN).
2- I bought camera using credit card (they give me option to pay 12 month 0% installment or pay in one go, i decided to pay in one go - administration fee was part of camera price), they also accept NETS or cash. (Whereas went to TK and bought lens for 600$, when i take out card he say sorry that is cash value price and point me to ATM machine to draw money, he give more detail that NETS or CC require extra administration fee).
3- When i bought my camera HN gave me free UV lens (value was 30$), when i bought lens from TK and asked about UV lens they ask me to pay extra 35$.

It is not i am showing TK down and praising HN but i am just trying to share my experience so other buyer can benefit from that.
Only thing i didn't like that i wanted to get 18-200mm lens but kit come with 18-105 lens and you cannot change it.

You cant really compare them like this, they are in the first place operating in diff scale.
Theres nothing wrong in cash only dealings, i mean if you dun like you can always go somewhere else.
But the way speaking of the HN extended warranty.
Do you know that the warranty only covers up to the value of your purchase. For example your D90 cost $1700... the max repair cost the warranty will cover is up to $1700.. anything exceed that you have to top up yourself. So for example your camera got into trouble in the 2nd year and the repair cost is $1700... its as good as the end of the warranty. and its stated as non transferable. I take it as the warranty will not follow if the camera is sold to another person. Correct me if im wrong.
