Gosh! You still havent bought your D90. Just buy in any of the recommended shop with competitive prices instead of suffering emotionally when it is out of stock.

ya loh...When I'm mentally prepared & convinced to get the D90(already on the way there), my dreams were "shattered"...lol ... Nvm la..as long as its nt a few weeks more of waiting can le :p

Hello maomao82,
Yes, looks like you have to wait a bit longer...news has it that all shops...AP, CP, John, Lord's, TCW, MS, TK, etc are allow to carry 3 sets of D90 on each shipment (I supposed D90 lately has been a hot items since it won this year TIPA award).
Happy waiting (absent makes a heart grows fonder).

Cheers^^

I don't know why but john seems to like comparing D90 and the 500D. Went there ytd and the sales guy keep tell me (and my dad) that 500D is actually better.. But in price actually. D90's package there is 1690. Package only comes with the body and the 18-105 lens. Only. But for the Canon, it comes with the long kit lens, and with enough surplus money to buy the 50mm.

IMO, D90 and 500D isn't on par. after all after looking at the functions, I think D90 certainly makes a more versatile model.

I'm beginning to think that john's (so called) excellent customer service is only applicable to Canon buyers.

Same experience here. I was asking for Nikon D90 but no stock at John.
Then the sales guy suggested "Why not consider Canon?".
I think the below link is showing good comparison between Canon 500D & Nikon D90.

So the choice is yours ;) Cheers!

dun b too eager to get lots of stuffs which u might not even use.

get the d90 kit with 18-105vr len.
it should las u for some time

Shutter count would normally be 1. Nikon will test fire a shutter first. :)

yup, I saw that review before making up my mind about my purchase. so, besides sharper pics, lower price and higher MP, i dun see how the 500d is better than d90's better user functions, classic SLR look (i feel this is at least how any decent SLR should look) and solid build.

I heard that salespeople dislike selling nikon stuff because the margin is razor thin.

did I see that link being often use to ask people to pick d90 instead of 500d??

In my work I use both nikon and canon, I think each have their own good.
that dark image could be because of some setting. I'm using 500d, ok lah.
My favourite for personal use is 500d and lx3, light and good.

Can some experts confirm? I want to get the d90 too, but like hard to get good deals

speaking of this, I find it funny it. but wait until you hear this. I ask for d90. They told me 500d better. I told them I already got and just showed them, then they reply was actually 500d is good enough, why buy d90. thought sales is trying to sell?

i not sure about it but the only two things i dun like about D90 is it is quite heavy with everything on. i shoot about 20 photos then my hand start to tired ha. then after that is too much functions then quite complicated. Maybe i still very noob ba ha

Seriously, I think I will also face the problem of the camera being too complicated for me to use..complete noob.

Any gd suggestion for a newbie to have a quick grapse of the D90? apart fr readin the manual like readin journals, how to explore the camera wifout executing the forbidden "dont".

Dummbies for NIKON D90 ? :bsmilie:

There are books on D90 at Riceball @ Funan by David Bulsch or Ben Long.
For me, i just play around with the camera.
Those i don't understand or have bad shots, i just find Mr Google. :)
The more u explore the functions the more u learn. Have fun using the D90.

For me, its good... :D
