D800 L brackets will fit the D810. However, some brackets have issues with the side doors.

Camera from other big manufacture also have issue when first time released. No camera is perfect.
Canon 5D Mark III is known with light leak issue.
Sony A7r is well known with camera vibration during shutter release.
Nikon D810 also have issue, thermal noise. It is good that Nikon have found the fix.

Only Nikon Df is the KING, no issue since first released.

For the pro camera like D810, the gift is a total joke. Maybe only the cleaning kit is usable.

Waiting for another couple of months to see if the price drop before jumping in.

agreed with you. all 3 things are unusable for me, and I have put it aside already.

well, price confirm will drop in the few month, but it will be few months later story.
just pay n enjoy it now, nobody will know what will happen tomorrow.
