D800E User Thread

AF-issue again!!!!

Infamous left AF issue. Sent my D800E to NSC on 26 OCT. Got it back on 29 OCT. All fixed.

Went for wedding shoot on 06 NOV. Notice problem now migrated to the R AF. Sent to NSC today...

Now undergoing repairs... Sigh... All bros, pls check yours carefully even though you got yours fixed/calibrated at NSC.

Problem might have shifted to the opposite like mine.

1. Check left, mid left, centre, mid right & right AF points. All should be as good as live view shots - then AF issue fix.

2. If camera hang intermittently, reflash the firmware (at least for me it fixes the problem permanently).

3. If you have AF micro hunting on AF-C, go look for NSC again. Work around is to use AF-C, but use "S" option instead of the "dXX" or AF-S. This only happens indoors when lighting is dimmer...even with fast lenses (talk about -2EV focusing?!?).

Point 2 & 3 may or may not happen to you, something to keep at the back of your mind...just sharing some info.
