D800E User Thread

Looking at the largest sized image on flickr.. it appears that the plane of focus is just behind the foliage on the foreground, where there are small, think and botak branches poking out of the foliage from the right all the way to the green trees on the left where the thin tree branches are still acceptably in focus (but not as sharp as the botak branches on the right).

The building doesn't look acceptable to me..

Hi friends, i am intending to get the d800e. Can anybody suggest some nikon lenses to go with it. I am into indoor and outdoor portraits and travel photography. I am a newbie to the world of nikon.

To complement travels ,
Nikkor 16-35 F/4
Nikkor 24-70 F/2.8
Nikkor 70-300 F/2.8 VRII or the F/4 depending on how shallow you want your DOF for indoor portraits....

70-200, not 300.

Go download / obtain a Nikon lens catalog and go figure.

When in doubt, go for those lenses with f/2.8 or below. Or better yet, lenses that cost S$2,000 and above. You're assured of good stuff.

Taken this morning. The D800's dynamic range is pretty impressive. Used a Hitech reverse grad and a Lee 0.9 soft grad to control the skies and exposed this scene to the left. Just pulled out the details in post and this is what you get!

Hi guys, I just joined the family. Bought the cam last month but don't have time to try it out much & just realised that the LCD display has grossly poor WB compared to my D700. Tried changing all types of WB using same light source including custom but still haven't been able to nail it yet. Will have to load into the PC to double confirm again. Is there a thread on this?

I checked the firmware & seems that my body has the latest. Thanks.
