Since there isn't a D800E thread yet, may I start one?
Sorry to start off by the following senseless shot - but they are to test the resolution and have no artistic value whatsoever!
Shot is taken with 14-24mm on a tripod and triggered with remote cable. ISO 100, f/16, 20 sec. Shot in RAW and no adjustments were made except as otherwise indicated.
#1: Resized, converted to JPEG, and added the "green box".

#2: Cropped to approximately the size indicated in the green box in #1.

#3: Sharpened using LR4.

p.s. Sorry if it was your boxers which was shown here. I just randomly chose a spot.

A skilled photographer should be able to use the D800 for events and weddings. If cannot handle the demands, he/she may still get the older D700 or D3s or wait until the D4 price come down a bit.

In my opinion don't need to be that skillful to use it. If handholding technique is really bad, just shoot a bit faster and sacrifice a bit of ISO. Also I understand that any noticeable increase in noise or camera shake would disappear if downsized to D700's resolution. In other words, if the shots are good keep them at full 36 MP, if not downsize and you are still no worse than having a D700. At the end of the day, your overall portfolio would have a higher resolution on average than a D700's with nothing lost in other attributes. Makes sense?
Skilled photographer any camera also can use lah ....... it's not like you are fighting a war with the D800E ........
