Haven't collected it yet. I believe should be fixed based on other feedback here. Will update after I tested it.

so left AF no issued already ?
remember to test not only the left AF but all. in case they fix one but break others
The right AF appears a tad off, but it could well be my error.

Mine shd be done next week hopefully...
Had the D800E for a few days now. i come from an APSC cam, and the first thing that wowed me was the file size. its about 20 mb for jpegs and 80 for raw. guess i'll be needing more memory cards...
First, congrats & welcome to the club. As for file size, when shooting RAW, just choose Nikon's lossless compressed option; and it won't be 80 MB. Should be around 40+ MB. From what I read, there is absolutely no loss in image quality by choosing the lossless compressed vs uncompressed. In fact, Nikon already took out the uncompressed option and then put it back to satisfy some consumers, according to this guy. See the link below and scroll down to "NEF (RAW) Recording" under "Uncompressed" subheading.
As for memory cards, $80+ gets you 64GB 30MB/s Sandisk card and $125 gets you 64GB 45MB/s. I never found I needed any faster ones as I don't do much burst photography. One of these SD cards alone allows you to shoot nearly 770-800 RAW lossless compressed shots...plenty enough for me.

have these two to share, both taken with the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 ZF.2 Distagon lens. It is the heaviest lens in the entire ZF/ZF.2 line up, with a very unique duality.
At maximum aperture, it is optimized for bokeh and a sharp distinction between focus and defocus, at the expense of CA and other color abberations.
By f/4 to f/5.6 for landscape work and stuff, it becomes razor sharp like the 21mm Distagon.
Here both taken at f/1.4, and processed to my taste. It is a lens that will rarely, if ever be considered amidst the stable of the Nikon 35/1.4 AF-S, Canon 35/1.4 L, Leica 35/1.4 FLE, but it sure is a unique contribution on Zeiss' optical part.
