I don't think it's possible that Nikon will launch a successor to the D700 range so soon after they launched the D700. that would kinda kill their own product.... it doesn't make sense, from a marketing point of view.
Clearly the Dnnn range is inferior to the Dn range of cameras.
Calm down and think with your heads! The take-home word for today is Photoshop!

besides build, think d300 not inferior to d1, d2, ...
Almost everything you buy also depreciates. I think alot of ppl around here and overseas have this hobby called "Latest & Greatest". What happened to photography....it's an art form not numbers.
If you see your cameras as investments then I think you're in a losing investment unless you sell your photos.
Penny-wise but pound-foolish.

Human's greed helps to advance camera's technology too.
If there is a need, Cam manufacturers will go all out to satisfy human's hunger.So I think Nikon will definately do something to upgrade their D700, if not, they will loose the D700 market shares to their" Snow white "competitor.(They better act fast:bsmilie![]()
